DS is at a friend's house for a sleepover. The mother just text me to say he's been great, they've had a great time and they had a Chinese for dinner, so I can give her the money for his meal 'tomorrow, or whenever I have it.'

She must be joking right?

Sorry PaulAnka when I asked for an update the thread hadn't updated on my phone. Must not be a special mumsnet hotline phone.

Buzzardbird · 30/05/2016 11:01

Paul, I think you should ask for this thread to be deleted. It's too identifying. The Chinese food delivery guy has seen your child twice in a row, at two different addresses and has probably worked out by now that you are a neglectful parent with no boundaries. The friend's mother knows that you farm your child out to anyone that will have him and expect them to feed and pay for his university education. It will be all around the village by now, of which I know are all mn users. You and your family will be ousted and you will have to re-train as a gp and move to New Zealand!
I suggest a lemon drizzle in way of apology.

Flumpsnlumpsnstuff · 30/05/2016 11:14

Wow that escalated quickly Grin
I think I me-railed your post Paul
I've called the mn phone the battery must be dead so I've passive-aggressively said "hmm something doesn't sound right here " and reported you to mnhq as a troll. While I receive accolades for my instincts from other posters and simultaneously moving your post to be all about me GrinGrinBiscuit

SapphireStrange · 30/05/2016 11:44

How weird. Did she mean it when she texted, then think better of it?

Homebird8 · 30/05/2016 21:11

You and your family will be ousted and you will have to re-train as a gp and move to New Zealand!

If I might be so bold as to say the Chinese in NZ probably wouldn't be up to standard. Haven't found a good one yet. They are cheap though so perhaps might suit your friend.

Chippednailvarnishing · 30/05/2016 21:14

No not the Lemon Drizzle. Shock
That is just a step too far. A career in NZ seems perfectly reasonable though.

VortexOfDisaster · 31/05/2016 08:06

I dozed off to sleep reading this thread last night. I was going to say something SO original like 'cancel the cheque', but now I just want to know about the mn phone. Can someone post a link?

PaulAnkaTheDog · 01/06/2016 19:56

UPDATE:

Just kidding, I just really want someone to direct me to the mumsnet phone thread.

Clearly you need to ltb. Nothing less will ever do. Cut these toxic narcs out of your lives forever!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/06/2016 20:08

I've had the same, but with pizza. Shocking!

AndYourBirdCanSing · 01/06/2016 20:10

Bloody hell I thought you had a real update then!

Surely the phone thing isn't true?! Shock

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 01/06/2016 20:16

The 'mumsnet only' phone was true, as said by Worra.

The poster in question was a person baffled that an OP didn't respond to her pm so must have been a troll Grin. I won't reveal her nn but do remember it.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/06/2016 20:18

Well, this was disappointing. The set up was great, but what an anti climax. I expect better next time, Paul.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 01/06/2016 20:25

I have been lurking on this thread and when I saw your update I thought - You witch, having us on like that Grin Smile Chancer!!!! Ahhhh.... this is too much for a humpday Grin Need wine Wine

PaulAnkaTheDog · 01/06/2016 20:26

I'm sorry Sad I'll find myself a shitty group of friends and make a real cracker of a thread as soon as one of them fucks up. Fair?

OP posts:
PaulAnkaTheDog · 01/06/2016 20:28

Grin Sorry Whatcha! I didn't mean to drive you to drink! In all honesty I really think it must have been a joke that didn't come across well in message. She's really a lovely lady. Either that or she's now stalking me on mumsnet.

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 01/06/2016 20:31

That'd be great if you could, thanks Paul.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 01/06/2016 20:54

No worried Paul, I was already having a glass of wine with dinner.... Smile Wine

WhatchaMaCalllit · 01/06/2016 20:55

worries not worried #D'Oh! should probably step away from the wine so

StealthPolarBear · 02/06/2016 06:46

Just a thought, was the message definitely for you? From the way you word it in your op, unlikely but for her dh "they're having a great time , your half of the Chinese is x"
Thoufh if he wasn't there eating the meal that seems mean :o
