Just askin'

And place marking for updates Grin

This thread can't end there, it's not an episode of Eastenders!

Op report the pms to mnhq

shinynewusername · 11/05/2016 22:56

OP, Not sure if you are checking your inbox at the moment, with all the journalist hassle, but I have just PM-ed you about a post that might be identifying - you could ask MN to edit.

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 11/05/2016 23:16

Other than one friend sharing mumsnets original post from puzzled's (which was maybe on their fb page) Iv not heard or seen of this story on the radio or news or TV programmes.

So, hopefully the bride and groom haven't either for puzzleds sake so she has an easy life and doesn't have to deal with any fall out from it.

OrlandaFuriosa · 11/05/2016 23:20

I'd get both threads pulled. The point been more than made and discussed. No point perpetuating.

WorraLiberty · 11/05/2016 23:34

Anyone else looking forward to seeing the bride and groom on TV?

I've no doubt the media will trace them and offer them money for their side of the story.

It'd be interesting to read actually.

NickiFury · 11/05/2016 23:39

Yes I would be very interested to see the actual real people behind this story.

Lweji · 11/05/2016 23:39

Lweji it was on the front page of the Guardian website

Maybe because I get the International version?

But if it was at one point, it didn't seem to be when I looked (even after someone posted the link here) and it doesn't seem to be now. 5 min story among the many in daytime tv and radio.

Lweji · 11/05/2016 23:41

Also, my local newspaper picks on Guardian news. Probably have some contract.

But the receptionist that was fired for not wearing high heels has been a much bigger story.

I'd be more concerned about the circle of friends for the couple than national news, really.

SuckingEggs · 11/05/2016 23:42

Definitely big on the Guardian when I looked online.

honeyrider · 12/05/2016 00:05

This story has gone viral on social media in Ireland, it keeps coming up on so many different social media facebook and twitter pages.

Tiredmumno1 · 12/05/2016 00:35

It's just popped up on my Facebook feed under heart news

AcrossthePond55 · 12/05/2016 01:10

They must be on the app. I've found I can post past 1000 on the app using my iPhone.

toastyarmadillo · 12/05/2016 04:13

I'm really worried that posts can end up in national news and chat shows. This is somewhere I go for anonymous advice, I wouldn't want my personal problems publicised like that. I wish there was a way to protect our self's in future threads. I imagine many people will be hesitant to post here in the future for fear of potential fall out in the media.

Makesomethingupyouprick · 12/05/2016 05:18

We better brace ourselves for another troll invasion. Can you imagine the thrill for a troll if they not only fool MN but are then talked about on TV and in the papers?

lem73 · 12/05/2016 07:32

I agree toasty. The Op has had no control over this. I hate thinking there are lazy "journalists" reading through MN instead of looking for real stories.

SheHasAWildHeart · 12/05/2016 09:32

I hate thinking there are lazy "journalists" reading through MN instead of looking for real stories.
Do you really think it is lazy journalists, or MNHQ themselves who send journalists press releases/links for media coverage, which then brings more users and more advertising and £££?

WorraLiberty · 12/05/2016 09:37

Gahh! Why are people still calling modern journalism lazy? Grin

Mind you WRT Mumsnet and 'real stories', they seem to be very few and far between these days.

I would dearly love to see if this bride and groom actually surface though.

SheHasAWildHeart · 12/05/2016 09:41

Where is the poster who received this email?

YvaineStormhold · 12/05/2016 09:43

It's in The Times this morning.

Bizarre reading it. It was just like someone telling me what they'd read on MN. Hardly national news Confused

kiwimumof2boys · 12/05/2016 10:12

It's made several news and magazine newsites here in NZ too . . . Also popped up on my FB thread several times.

AugustaFinkNottle · 12/05/2016 15:41

Where is the poster who received this email?

She's posted a few times on this thread - I suggest you go back and read it.

Lweji · 12/05/2016 17:41

She cancelled the cheque.

Autumnchill · 12/05/2016 20:08

Johnny Vaughan talked about it on Radio X this evening on my drive home.

He said she should cancel the cheque Grin
