This thread can't end there, it's not an episode of Eastenders!

DuckAndPancakes · 11/05/2016 16:57

huge round of applause for orchid

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 11/05/2016 17:10

All the weird bride and groom behaviour that has been documented on MN over the years, and this is what is picked out?

RuggerHug · 11/05/2016 17:34

It's on the huffing post as well! Didn't see that on the list, apologies if already mentioned!

Cosmicbird · 11/05/2016 17:35

I just heard this story on a "news" feature on an Irish radio station! The original post was quoted!

Lweji · 11/05/2016 17:41

It is officially international. It has crossed the language barrier.

Lweji · 11/05/2016 17:45

Puzzled, you are also, in the Portuguese version a "girl". Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/05/2016 17:51

you are also, in the Portuguese version a "girl"

Shock Shock Grin

Pipbin · 11/05/2016 18:10

As much as I enjoyed the thread and got very involved in the story I fail to see why it is getting so much news coverage.

NeedACleverNN · 11/05/2016 18:18

I can't believe how viral it's gone!

I wonder if the bride and groom are reading it and thinking cheeky fucking buggers and not realising it's about them!

Crispbutty · 11/05/2016 18:25

doesnt seemed to have made it to Sky news ... yet..

Balletgirlmum · 11/05/2016 18:35

I've just seen a link to Itv News too. I think it's awful they are trawling websites.

LoucheLady · 11/05/2016 18:41

this is an absolutely hilarious way of taking the bride to task

Yeah, fucking hilarious to be the object of worldwide condemnation and opprobrium. This sort of thing has driven people to suicide before. I fucking despise this sort of shitty so-called journalism. Six million people dead in civil war in the DRC. But who gives a flying fuck as long as some woman writes a rude email to someone she knows, eh? And FFS shame on you people who are too busy lapping it up to wonder just why this is international news and how the people on the receiving end feel. Bread and circuses.

HaloHoney · 11/05/2016 18:44

I read the thread. This one as well as the other one.

And I must admit that after reading it all I think you guys are fabulous, and that despite registering yeeeears ago, I've never really posted, and I bloody should.

So cheers for the laughs, and I'll dry not to be such a bloody rubbernecker in future. Grin

BoGrainger · 11/05/2016 19:02

Did it get noticed because of the original thread or this one?

Jayne35 · 11/05/2016 19:10

Louchlady I very much doubt the op thought for a minute this would happen. Its actually made me decide never to start a post on Mumsnet again and to really think before I post comments. I know the Bride will know who she is but the world doesn't and it will be old news soon enough.

Bambambini · 11/05/2016 19:24

I've had some real doozey stories that i knew would really take off on here, tick all the boxes. I've not posted them because they are too identifyable and i don't want to be responsible for any real bad fall out for those involved - whether they acted outrageously or not.

I'm surprised at what some folk post tbh.

ilovesprouts · 11/05/2016 19:30

FBlush

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 11/05/2016 19:55

I think Louchelady makes rather a good point actually, and I suddenly feel a bit ashamed Blush Two wrongs don't make a right n'all that.

itsnotfair10 · 11/05/2016 19:58

It was on sky news this morning. My dh came into the bedroom talking about it. I have to agree it's appalling that major news organisations class this as news

LoucheLady · 11/05/2016 20:01

Jayne35 I'm not blaming the OP for a moment. I'm blaming the shitty bottom feeders who call themselves journalists and the hysterial baying internet rentamob who love nothing better than to latch on to this sort of shit.

Pigflewpast · 11/05/2016 20:17

Noooooooooo I followed the link half way through this to bridezilla/ are you on glue thread - was late picking son up from school, burnt the tea, turned down trip to the pub, got to the end of thread - WTF happened?! Just stopped! Did she reply again? SOMEBODY HELP. PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEE

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2016 20:38

I hope we do get to hear the bride's side at some point

PacificDogwod · 11/05/2016 20:44

I too totally agree with Louchelady's point - shitty journalism and a culture in which this kind of a 'story' counts as news.

I don't think that Puzzled WBU to ask her original question and I don't think the replies were in any way unreasonable either - the way these trivial personal storms in teacups can become 'news' is just a horrible reflection of our superficial vacuous times. There is rather a lot more important stuff going on in the world Hmm
