OP - I think I'm being stood up

Replies - You are needy and desperate.

OP - My tenants are constantly late with their rent

Replies - It's your fault for renting your place. Expect them to do this, put up and shut up.

OP - I saw a man on the ground being hit by several police officers last night. WWYD?

Replies - But how could you have seen? It was dark. How could you see how many times he was hit? YABU
[answer - because I have eyes]

I think if you come onto the AIBU thread you can expect some blunt responses. It can be helpful to see things from different angles. If you are feeling vulnerable or sensitive it doesn't help. You really have to decide how strong you are feeling at the time and whether you can actually face having your deepest thoughts or feelings laid raw and examined in minutae.
If you want advice or support you really need to say so at the beginning or stay away from AIBU and go to the relationships or holidays or jobs threads.
I really like Mumsnet but you need to use it with care, as with most things in life!

God yes Hands I was lurking virtually with my hands over my eyes. And I'm a tenant privately renting! Grin never late with my rent though, just saying!

  1. Because posters can't read the OPs mind and some OPs think they've explained things in detail when they haven't
  2. Because posters are presenting a different perspective on what happened
  3. Because posters don't believe the OPs version of the truth, or think that OP must have omitted something
  4. Because posters think the OP is a troll
  5. Because some posters are in a foul mood
  6. Because some posters are goody fuckers on every thread they post on

I would not start a thread on AIBU unless I was 100% sure I was feeling open and robust enough to deal with whatever came my way and was prepared to question myself, defend myself and walk away from the thread if necessary. I wouldn't post in anger either

Narp · 02/05/2016 18:32

goady fuckers

BIWI · 02/05/2016 18:37

I like goody fuckers! I wonder what kind of posts they would post?

Narp · 02/05/2016 18:39

BIWI

I think it would involve unicorns, squealing like an extra in Mama Mia, and glitter

CaptainCrunch · 02/05/2016 18:39

Best bunfights are when goady fucker meets frothing berserker, they're highly entertaining.

Narp · 02/05/2016 18:40

I like it when there's a clash of Brigades

Nothing like a clash of the vipers, though. Epic

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2016 18:58

I sometimes have a small chortle but that's it.
