Aibu to think there's always one?

Constructive criticism, great, advice, brilliant, strong opinions, also great for getting a new perspective on situations.... But, goady fuckers, a different kettle of fish entirely, example...

Op - DD's rabbit died last week, she's very sad.

I'm not sure whether to get another rabbit when she's ready or perhaps a Guinea pig instead?

Goader - It sounds to me like you're not particularly good at looking after animals. In fact I'd say you probably shouldn't be allowed to have pets. I feel sorry for your DD.

It's interesting that there are different ideas of what constitutes a GF. For me, a GF has an element of troll, and is trying, purposefully, to goad. I don't think I'd include 'speaking your mind' in my own personal definition. I think I'm closer to Lambrini''s definition than Pagenotfound's.

A RL friend once explained to me that part of the fun of on-line forums was to post inflammatory opinions and watch the riot that ensued. I was quite surprised. She was so mild-mannered and nice in RL!!

thecatfromjapan · 22/03/2016 13:24

I can't believe how many of you guys are still feeding you rabbits. Angry

You need to let them out to feed themselves. How on earth do you expect them to manage when they go to university?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 22/03/2016 13:30

I'd never say anything on line, that. I wouldn't say in person.

MissHooliesCardigan · 22/03/2016 13:30

There is a quite spectacularly GF on the thread about the OP's DD calling social services. I keep trying not to rise to the bait and failing. I got flamed once for buying flowers as I was 'destroying the planet'.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 22/03/2016 13:38

thecatfromjapan - now we're on the subject of universities, shall we make it clear that anything other than Russell Group, preferably studying medicine or classics, is simply not worth it. Not that that's going to be a problem for my rabbits. I mean, they're only kittens* but they are amazingly advanced.

  • Yes, I did have to look up the name for baby rabbits.
oliviaclottedcream · 22/03/2016 13:47

Perfect example is in AIBU. There's a thread about the woman who's workmate is pretending to have a disability in order to get event tickets. See the first couple of responses. They're along the lines of _ what's it got to do with you? You have way too much time on your hands.. Let she who is without sin cast the first stone - type - thing.

Peaceandloveeveryone · 22/03/2016 13:54

I do think some goadyness is genuine difference of opinion but yes, it is quite boring when people deliberately antagonise and get nasty on a mundane thread.

Lots of threads being 'remembered' wrong on here though.

Peaceandloveeveryone · 22/03/2016 13:55

Olivia that thread was just shocking, completely agree. I am so not a mind your own business person.

katemiddletonsothermum · 22/03/2016 14:03

Just for the record, my rabbits are far superior to your rabbits as mine go to private school. Not only do they play the oboe, harp and viola (much more classy than the common violin), but they also play in the First XV for rugger. Yes, rugger. Not Rugby. There's something rather infra dig about a rabbit that plays Rugby League.

My eldest rabbit has just got an internship at Cath Kidson and is making gloves out of irritable shrews.

puts the surreal hat back on the coat rack

SirChenjin · 22/03/2016 14:12

I suspect that your rabbits have to go to private school because they are thick and need small classes, and because you and your partner are far too easily impressed by glossy brochures and the promise of musical instruments.

You sound rather pathetic and entitled actually.

EverybodyHatesATourist · 22/03/2016 14:13

I like to play a little game when reading the goady comments - I don't look at the username and try to guess who it is. There seems to be a core group of four (used to be five but thankfully one of them has finally fucked off) whose sole purpose on MN is to disagree with people.
Surely it would be easier to find a different forum where they had more in common with the other posters? one full of like-minded miserable argumentative twats

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 14:47

Snort.

DollyTwat · 22/03/2016 14:49

Haven't you people got anything better to do with your time than post on threads like this?

Well, you're just showing off now with those pictures. Damn it, I think I've pulled a muscle laughing and the rabbit is just looking at me. Chewing. And not even chewing in Mandarin.

MyFavouriteClintonisGeorge · 22/03/2016 15:15

You need to chill the fuck out, dude.

katemiddletonsothermum · 22/03/2016 17:44

Why is your guinea pig sitting in a sink full of its own piss?

My rabbits are not only house-trained, but serve as my butlers during dinner parties.

thecatfromjapan · 22/03/2016 18:10

Not wishing to de-rail the thread but ... that is the cutest picture!!! I am going to have to show it to dd.

SilverBirchWithout · 22/03/2016 18:11

I waste a day going to work and now people are posting pics of GPs.

Phoning in sick tomorrow in case I miss something else.

Peyia · 22/03/2016 18:50

This thread is hilarious.

Guinea pigs are such fucking attention seekers. It's all meep meep meep with them.

There are some posters who seek out an argument. I've never seen them add anything positive or be able to agree to disagree respectfully. There's one on the sex board that had a happy ending and the goaders were out numbered. It's annoying when they detail a thread.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 19:33

Happy ending on the sex boardGrin

PurpleDaisies · 22/03/2016 19:35

These lot are mine. They are attention seeking little nuisances but they do keep the lawn trimmed.

A few years ago I asked a question in here that involved me. It definitely involved me. Then some goady fucker that is often on AIBU told me to fuck off and mind my own business. Every time I see her name I think to myself "Goady fucker".

Peyia · 22/03/2016 19:52

The happy ending sex board thread also had me in stiches.

'Fiat', 'broke my fanny' - you can not make this stuff up!!

VerySlovenly · 22/03/2016 19:54

Should there be a goady-fucker-alert smiley?
