Goady fuckers on threads...

Aibu to think there's always one?

Constructive criticism, great, advice, brilliant, strong opinions, also great for getting a new perspective on situations.... But, goady fuckers, a different kettle of fish entirely, example...

Op - DD's rabbit died last week, she's very sad.

I'm not sure whether to get another rabbit when she's ready or perhaps a Guinea pig instead?

Goader - It sounds to me like you're not particularly good at looking after animals. In fact I'd say you probably shouldn't be allowed to have pets. I feel sorry for your DD.

Is it wrong that I'm in hysterics over BBQ guinea pig?

When i clicked in this thread I thought it was going to be the cultural Christianity one that set people off.

People thought the violent DF one was a case for leaving the DH? I may have that topic hidden, I've lost the plot on what I see and what I don't.

lorelei9 · 22/03/2016 00:18

Oboe playing rabbit! Grin

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/03/2016 00:19

Oh Cat! I do wish you would. It might even be south of the river

thecatfromjapan · 22/03/2016 00:19

I would never dream of hot-housing my pets. Angry I know adult rabbits who can't stand the oboe or French horn because they had it forced on them as leverets.

thecatfromjapan · 22/03/2016 00:20

Bibbity Smile And Grin@ south of river plans.

thecatfromjapan · 22/03/2016 00:21

smalllego. That was brilliant, frankly. Immortal rabbit. Oboe. You have a surreal genius.

bolleauxnouveau · 22/03/2016 00:28

The rabbit may not be dead, have you tried changing the batteries.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 00:36

bolleaux Grin

I am starting to think I have been missing the point of MN and maybe being a goady fucker is actually my thingWink

cat no hot housing involved. He's just naturally talented and when you have lived as long as he has you are bound to learn the odd thing or two. I know that must be hard to understand if you pnly have ordinary rabbits. Perhaps if you stopped stroking them all the timeHmm

Personally I wanted him to play the harp, it would have gone much better in the Celtic ensemble the chinchillas have got going but no, he insisted on the oboe. (Which with his teeth was a bit challenging but he is very talented)

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 22/03/2016 00:38

Perhaps if you start your ordinary rabbits on something simple like the tambourine or the triangle.

If the OP had done that maybe hers wouldn't have died.

SilverBirchWithout · 22/03/2016 00:42

cat seriously who are you to offer giving advice about young rabbit development,. You don't even know a Kit (young rabbit) from a Leveret (young hare).

I certainly wouldn't trust a cat near young rabbits either.

toastyarmadillo · 22/03/2016 01:05

First thing I thought when I saw this thread was EI thread and retail jobs from hell.

quencher · 22/03/2016 01:24

Sorry, I can't stop laughing because am one of the goady fuckers. I usually write what am thinking without considering consequences.

I always say things I tend to regret later and this is in real life. Brush it off and move. Simple.

Lambrini · 22/03/2016 07:57

Excellent, got a self confessed goady fucker here, quencher do you mind if I ask you some questions? Genuinely curious!
Are there any threads/topics you won't goad on?
Have you ever apologised after you've felt bad for a particular goad?
Would you go against what you actually believe just to goad?

OP posts:
Lambrini · 22/03/2016 07:59

But quencher you do mention that you actually say what you think. This makes me wonder whether you are a Goader or just outspoken/brutally honest...?

bumbleymummy · 22/03/2016 08:12

I really think it depends on what she is being brutally honest about and whether or not you agree with her.

Love the oboe playing immortal rabbit Grin

bolleauxnouveau · 22/03/2016 08:24

Chinchillas in a celtic ensemble sounds like cultural appropriation to me. Unless they identify as celts.

PageStillNotFound404 · 22/03/2016 08:30

I think part of the GF problem is that there is a handful of posters who manage to be concise, pithy and quite blunt but not cruel, and who can cut to the essence of the OP's issue in a single sentence. Other people see this and try to emulate it, fall short and just come across as sarcastic goady twats, but that sets the tone for the thread.

Some genuinely try to see whether there's another possible explanation or fancy themselves as an amateur psychologist.

And some people just like an argument. Yes they fucking do, right?

JuxtapositionRecords · 22/03/2016 08:31

the goady fuckers who write what that are thinking are semi acceptable as at least you can argue back Grin

The goady fuckers who just write 'really?' are bloody annoying.

I remember the hair cut thread with the armchair warriors, it was surreal. I'm sure at one point the MN heros were on google maps trying to find the hairdressers and where op lived and looking on Facebook to find the name of the salon owner op gave!

PurpleDaisies · 22/03/2016 08:31

lorelai it is not in the slightest bit appropriate to be laughing at barbecuing guinea pigs. It is a disgusting thing to do.

Everyone knows the best way to eat pigs is in blankets.

Lambrini · 22/03/2016 08:40

There is a difference between a goady fucker and someone speaking their mind. A goady fucker will go out of their way to goad and may well not be voicing their opinions.

Op: I'm worried DH might be having an affair. Shall I ask him?

Gf: He probably is if you are as unreasonable and paranoid as you come across in your op

Opinionated poster: Yes, obviously ask him rather than asking us Hmm

Has this ever happened on MN?

AppleSetsSail · 22/03/2016 08:58

Be sure to avoid the Doghouse.

I once posted something that implied that I might be interested a particular breed not exclusively because of its temperament, but also for a one particular aesthetic quality.

Twas ugly.

katemiddletonsothermum · 22/03/2016 13:09

juxtapositionrecords

Really?
Hmm

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 22/03/2016 13:17

Op, whilst I'm sympathetic to your plight, I'd just like to point out that my rabbits are actually gifted and talented. Which means that they are, quite simply, more important than your strictly average rabbits.

TheSinkingFeeling · 22/03/2016 13:21

My rabbits are only 6 months old, but they can tell the difference between organic lettuce and the stuff that paupers eat! They told me.
