And if it took longer the second time?

After DC1 my body went back to normal within 24hours of giving birth (flat tummy, no stretchmarks or saggy skin) and I wore non-maternity clothes home from hospital. I'm 32.

Everyone says the second time is different!

Stealth boast Grin kidding. I'm just jealous. My body has never gone back to my pre-baby body, and my dd is 7 Grin

BertrandRussell · 09/03/2016 11:02

20 years and counting............

19909ninty · 09/03/2016 11:02

My mum said it took longer second time but that might be because it was twins.

A girl I know had her 2nd 14 weeks ago and she looks friggin amazing.

I've only had one so no idea!

VoldysGoneMouldy · 09/03/2016 11:02

Seven years and counting so far...

BathshebaDarkstone · 09/03/2016 11:03

It's 4.5 years and it hasn't happened yet! Grin

Peppaismyhomegirl · 09/03/2016 11:03

Place marking for this. Child one about a year to be compleatly back, although I was happy with it from about 9 months. Currently of with child 2 and trying to be healthier in this pregnancy (put a lot of weight on with child 1 I really didn't care) as I now know how hard it is to loose and I feel under more pressure to loose it this time. Any hints and tips very welcome

HamNJam · 09/03/2016 11:04

Errr, 13 years and still looking for my pre-pregnancy body.... Doesn't help that I carried twins to +37 weeks (we were lucky, but my body drew the short straw: all the stretch marks and saggy skin a girl could never want!)

MamaLazarou · 09/03/2016 11:05

DS is 6 and it hasn't happened yet, and never will, but I'm cool with that. I'm strong and fit.

Katenka · 09/03/2016 11:06

My won't ever be the same as it was pre dd. Stretchmarks have never gone and have a slightly saggy tummy.

It took me two years after having her to get back to my pre baby weight. I wasn't fussed for the first year.

I was back to pre baby weight with my second in 6 months. That said, I have put on some weight since, but am working towards losing it. Ds is 5

Cerseirys · 09/03/2016 11:07

I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes within a week or two, and after a month they were too big for me. DS is now 2 and I weigh several kilos less than I did when I was pregnant.

Cerseirys · 09/03/2016 11:08

I only have one child though, I've heard it can be trickier the second time around.

MNetter15 · 09/03/2016 11:09

DC1 1 year
DC2 3 months
DC3 6 weeks

I ate less (the correct amount) and continued with my exercise on dc2 and 3's pregnancies. I ate for 2 adults on DC1's pregnancy and found the weight very hard to shift.

My tummy is covered in stretch marks and a little saggy but I don't mind that.

Jibberjabberjooo · 09/03/2016 11:10

It hasn't. I lost weight after my first, my second 18 months on and I've still got a big saggy belly.

EnoughAlready999 · 09/03/2016 11:10

Two weeks.

confusedandemployed · 09/03/2016 11:13

2 years. I was nearly 40 and had an EMCS. I still have the C-section "shelf" but apart from that I'm a shade lighter and much, much fitter now. Funnily enough, that came when DD hit 2, became more independent and I got some time back.

trilbydoll · 09/03/2016 11:13

DD1 - put on 3.5st and 2st fell off without trying.

DD2 - put on 4st and only 1.5st fell off without trying! The weight went on quicker and stuck Grin she's 9m now and I'm still working on the last stone.

Having said that, when pregnant I eat for England and not healthy stuff. I also barely moved off the sofa. So that's going to have an impact too.

Mrscog · 09/03/2016 11:14

9 months both times - but I did pile a bit of weight on 2nd time around, was a bit harder to lose.

SamanthaBrique · 09/03/2016 11:16

I put on about 10lb in pregnancy. I don't understand how some women gain 4-5 stone unless they have mobility issues!

cornishglos · 09/03/2016 11:17

Dc1 about 3 months. But by 6 months I was a stone lighter than pre-pregnancy and couldn't put the weight back on.
Dc2 we are now at 4 months. I am back to my normal weight but a different shape. I hope in a couple more months I'll feel a bit better.

Scarydinosaurs · 09/03/2016 11:19

I didn't put on much weight with either of my pregnancies, I'm pretty fit and eat very carefully. I took about four months to get my flat stomach back.

I wouldn't worry too much about it- everyone is different, and as long as you have a straight forward birth you can expect to be back to exercising in a few months.

Good luck!

confusedandemployed · 09/03/2016 11:20

SamanthaBrique trust me, it's easy. I put on 4 stone and was still walking 4-5 miles a day by 41 weeks. I quite literally was unable to stop eating. It was horrible.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 09/03/2016 11:24

I think my actual shape is forever changed, for example my back is wider I guess due to ribs expanding along with bump but it hasn't gone back weirdly.

Baby 1 my tummy was in good shape withing 6 wks. Baby 2 I always kept a little tummy but nothing major. Baby 3.....I'm way heavier and have a rubbish mum-tum now. I think I'll actually have to exercise and diet to go back this time. I'm not even sure it will ever go completely even with that. But I did have 3 in 3 yrs. Not sure if that makes it worse.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 09/03/2016 11:24

I was lucky and was wearing pre pregnancy jeans within two weeks. I had a very good birth and BF which I've heard helps the womb contract. I also was careful during pg and the first few months not to 'eat for two' or just eat chocolate and cake as many women told me I could, just because 'having a baby was a great excuse'.

I was also lucky not to have any stretch marks (got my fair share in puberty and during a big weight gain and subsequent loss).
But my abdomen does look different somehow, just a tiny bit bigger. I am happy with my figure generally, I'm no model but I have a healthy bmi and am not too worried.

Next time round will be interesting!

confusion77 · 09/03/2016 11:28

Samantha probably because everyone's different? Every pregnancy is different. I was starving throughout my pregnancy and had to eat every hour or was crippled with nausea. Esp in the first 6 months. I put on about 2 stone, it was a miracle it wasn't more. I lost it immediately after birth (back to pre pregnancy weight when ds was 2weeks old) but have probably gained a stone back. I am bf and once again am starving. Have started cutting out the bad stuff now he is 7.5 months.
