And if it took longer the second time?

After DC1 my body went back to normal within 24hours of giving birth (flat tummy, no stretchmarks or saggy skin) and I wore non-maternity clothes home from hospital. I'm 32.

Everyone says the second time is different!

I would probably have more of a chance of "pinging" back into shape if I ate my usual strictish diet through pregnancy which I do to maintain my weightloss - instead I just eat what the f I like and deal with it after! When else can you get away with it?!Grin

My twins are 8. I have no stretch marks but my figure is shot even though i still had a waist when I was carrying.

(It has now disappeared under a kettle chip blanket)

Thank you Mrs magoo! I'll have a read now and get involved after this baby has arrived! Good luck!

It's really difficult to predict how a pregnancy will go. I have always been fit and active and managed to remain active when pregnant with DS. However, I ended up gaining 30 lbs! Turned out to mostly be water, and as I said earlier, I was back to my pre-pregnency weight within 10 days. I would never have thought it was water and was carefully monitoring what I ate and making sure I got lots of exercise. I was actually very stressed about it and I credit quite a bit of that to why he was born 6 weeks early (all be it a whopping 7 kilos!)

With DD I tried being active at first, but I ended up having horrendous morning sickness until week 26 and lost 15lbs! I then ended up on bed rest with contractions from 28 weeks till she came at 36 weeks, but I still hadn't regained my pre pregnency weight.

Unfortunately my diastatsis recti means my belly will never be the same (and it's totally hereditary, my mother has it as well and she's incredibly fit and healthy). I've gotten it from 5 inches to 2 inches, but I will also look like I'm sporting a 4 month pump. :( Which frigging sucks cause the rest of me is toned and athletic looking.

With DS1 it took me a year to lose the weight I gained, over 3st. DS2 I put on around 2st and once I had him went on a no crap diet, so no biscuits/cakes/crisps or alcohol for 10 weeks and got back to my pre pregnancy weight before he was 6months. With DS1 I mix fed from 3 months giving up at 6months but with DS2 I have exclusively breast fed (he refuses it any other way!) and I am sure that has contributed to my weight loss.

I didn't get any stretch marks but the skin on my stomach is definitely looser, haven't done any exercise other than walking yet so not sure if that will go in time?

Tummy never went back to normal. My biggest was 10 lbs 3 and smallest 9 lbs 6 though so that's a lot of stretching... The lower part of my tummy is a bit saggy and I'm coated in stretch marks although they are faded now and only visible when you get up close in a light room.
