I think we're due a name change. Just looked at Relationships and 3 out of the 4 top threads are by men.

OP posts:
OhShutUpThomas · 08/03/2016 18:07

Cause they're all trolling mumsnet

OhShutUpThomas · 08/03/2016 18:08

Good point though - why IS dadsnet so quiet?

Sparklingbrook · 08/03/2016 18:09

No idea. Dadsnet was presumably a topic that was asked for. By Dads....

Hence forth I shall address you as 'my dear' or possibly sweetiekins

Oh, that tickles. You naughty boy. I love having men on here, we get to flirt. More men on mumsnet, I say. So that there's enough to go round, give all the girls a chance.

Must run now, duty calls. Thanks OP for starting such a fun thread. Who knew equal rights could be so sexy.

I suspect it will be lost on him kawliga but it's so bloody sad and patronising, isn't it?

There's probably more than 7 men in the sex topic alone.

crappymummy · 08/03/2016 18:16

Silly women thinking you could have one corner of the internet that didn't centre men explicitly!

Where are your heads?

in seriousness, anyone who wants to imply that women's oppression (yes! Oppression! I said it!) is down to women hogging childcare and not letting men do their share should go climb a tree and never ever come down

Chocolatteaddict1 · 08/03/2016 18:20

I agree crappy Sad

crappymummy · 08/03/2016 18:27

Like really go hoot about being a man and manly manness on any one of the 99% of websites consisting of similar men hooting similarly

This website is not for women, but it is made up of a lot of their voices and frankly, that is where its value derives from

That makes it unique amongst the wealth of other websites available.

It is not valid to compare it to the rest of the world being male dominated and excluding women- if this one website, however powerful makes you feel excluded, there are ample others where being male means you are included. At least here, being outed as male doesn't result in harassment or threats- the same can't be said for being a woman on Twitter Sad Angry

If it doesn't meet your needs, go elsewhere or start your own

Justine did, and it seems to have come out well for her Grin

OhShutUpThomas · 08/03/2016 18:29

Yy crappy.

However, it is handy when a man comes on and demonstrates so perfectly why women do not have equality.
And I doubt he even realises what he's said.

99% of the Internet is dominated by men

and it's fine, as long as you don't do anything like let on that you are a woman

do that, and you can be in for a nasty time, which can involve harassment, threats and worse

I am thinking especially of Twitter when I say this. Stick to your own little area and don't post on any hashtags that become popular, don't comment on feminism and you are probably ok. otherwise...

in the spirit of international women's day I am not going to write anymore posts explaining why one single website which does not centre men, men's needs, what men as men find important is actually ok

Maybe one of the dudes can take over explaining that for me

I'm going to put my feet up and have a brew, ta

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 08/03/2016 18:47

I come on MN because it's one of the only predominantly female spaces on the internet that doesn't do all that huns and bubs stuff No one can threaten to rape me for typing my opinion (well, they can, but HQ will delete it PDQ).

And no men would ever, ever come on here calling women 'love'. Well, apart from VOD, being witty. Or something. Hmmmmm.

OhShutUpThomas · 08/03/2016 18:47

I'm with you.

Laughable that the above even needs saying, isn't it?

But yes, inequality is all our fault etc etc.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 08/03/2016 18:49

Oh, talking of International Women's Day:

So When is International Men's Day?

It's Nov 19th guys....

Sparklingbrook · 08/03/2016 18:50

I'll have a Brew too crappy if there's one going.
