Made a good friend a few years ago. She lives on my street. DCs are friends and we do play dates and baby sit for each other and some times go out for weekends. She moved to this street after her unhappy relationship came to an end and she feels her ex is controlling which I have witnessed and so believe.

I put my house on the market. He has offered me the full asking price.

I am desperate to move.

Would you sell to him in my position?

No

miraclebabyplease · 27/02/2016 20:13

No

Aeroflotgirl · 27/02/2016 20:13

No I wouldn't. How much do you value your friendship.

MrsHathaway · 27/02/2016 20:14

Hell no.

You need a buyer to be fair and reliable. You know for sure he isn't!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/02/2016 20:14

No I wouldnt

miraclebabyplease · 27/02/2016 20:14

If you do then you really need to hope karma is not real.

Headfulahorlix · 27/02/2016 20:14

I never really thought about it as she is a recent friend, two years, but we get soon very well and help each other out.

No!!

EustaceTheDragon · 27/02/2016 20:15

Not a chance.

Aeroflotgirl · 27/02/2016 20:15

Why would you help a good friends life be miserable op, I wouldent even entertain it. If you do, you have lost a good friend, and helped make some bodies life that more harder.

Buzzardbird · 27/02/2016 20:15

No. No money in the world would make me shit on someone.

CombineBananaFister · 27/02/2016 20:16

Wait and see if you get other offers first, hopefully you will. Bloody hell, that really IS a dilemma. Whats his motivation for moving there? not that it should be your concern but is it a popular enough area you will get lots more offers, otherwise I really feel for you OP.

BloodyPlantagenets · 27/02/2016 20:16

Tricky. Probably not though. You'll have other offers.

RubbleBubble00 · 27/02/2016 20:16

not unless you are willing to end the friendship

edwinbear · 27/02/2016 20:17

No, buyers come and go, good friends don't.

RoseDeWittBukater · 27/02/2016 20:17

Never in a million years. You could quite literally be signing her death warrant.

gymboywalton · 27/02/2016 20:17

No way

Pancakeflipper · 27/02/2016 20:17

No and I would tell my friend what's happened because it's was possibly a controlling relationship (and because she's a good friend).

Gabilan · 27/02/2016 20:17

No. There will be other buyers, ones who don't want to manipulate and bully your friend.

QuiteLikely5 · 27/02/2016 20:17

I just couldn't do this not because he was her ex but because he was abusive to her and obviously always will be. This is just another tactic from him.

Can you tell her?

StealthPolarBear · 27/02/2016 20:18

I'd take his money happily if that's people's objections. So id sell to the bitter ex of a friend. But in this case selling to him would mean him moving very close to her, so no. Do you think that's his motivation?

ovenchips · 27/02/2016 20:18

I wouldn't, though it is obviously at some personal cost to you. It's not worth it though.

I would tell your friend of her ex's plans too and see her reaction.

BillSykesDog · 27/02/2016 20:19

No way. Ever.

Dotandethel · 27/02/2016 20:19

Shows the extent of his controlling ways to want to buy your house. No way would i sell to him

SaucyJack · 27/02/2016 20:19

Have you spoken to her, and asked whether her and the DCs would like it?
