On mn I mean. Just something I seem to be spotting more and more.
happy to be told I'm wrong in words of one syllable

You may not be a misogynist, brightside, but the views you spout on MN are misogynistic. There's nothing dishonest about that. Just because you don't think you are a misogynist doesn't make it true. And your gender has nothing to do with it. I argue with deluded women who spout misogynist views too.

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 17:59

You're all over the place there Darth. Am I a mysoginist or not?

PandoesnotwearRaphaclothes · 17/02/2016 18:00

Lord - it isn't tribal. It isn't men v women - it's people who know stuff through intelligence and experience v a man who would seem to have neither.

I've looked up thread briefly and read your stuff about feminists wanting to put men down and on objectification. You know so little and seem happy with that. So as a non-feminist male I'd still want to say this isn't tribal.

so I'm not in your 'tribe' Lord, just be clear.Grin

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 18:03

Matilda, it just takes gender out of the equation. Some people are arseholes, we all know that, but it's not because of "gendered behaviour".

Owllady · 17/02/2016 18:04

As soon as you said what you said regarding the objectification of women, well you'd lost Lord
And I don't get involved in the feminism threads on here at all and I'm not part of a tribe
I don't want to comment on anything else, apart from I'm glad felicity was being sarcastic, phew Blush

Not sure what a "mysoginist" is, but I think you're a misogynist. You think you're not, despite spouting misogynistic views on here. Soooo ... yeah.

Don't you think it's odd, though, that several women - on every misogynist-related topic you post on - tells you that your views are wrong and that maybe you should take a look at yourself? Does that not give you pause? Even for a second?

I wonder what your high-flying doctor wife would think of your views on objectification. (Don't try to tell me, in case you're tempted, as that's heresay.)

goodnightdarthvader1 · 17/02/2016 18:08

Oh, GOD, he's back to the tribal thing! I missed that! He did that on the last thread ... still not sure what the fuck he's on about.

I have encountered LordBrightside before, and I can assure you he doesn't just post on sexism threads. He also posts on threads about racism.

Matilda, I don't think being patronising is a gendered characteristic. Genitals have no part to play in people being patronising know all blowhards.

PandoesnotwearRaphaclothes · 17/02/2016 18:12

shrill....interesting word use, when no-one is actually talking even, but illuminating nonetheless.

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 18:12

" he also posts on threads about racism."

Do I?!?! Can't think of one.

TaraCarter · 17/02/2016 18:12

Ooh, you can tell what kind of voice people have through text!

Oh yes, the Golliwog thread!

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 18:13

I see some people aren't familiar with the concept of Tone of Voice.

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 18:14

Shrillness is not a gendered characteristic either.

TaraCarter · 17/02/2016 18:14

The golliwog thread, Brightside. The one where you accused someone of "defamation, possibly criminal" because they implied you were a racist.

I was laughing for days about that one.

PandoesnotwearRaphaclothes · 17/02/2016 18:15

hmm I'm off to make dinner. In my nice new pinny, if anyone cares. No time for any more pointless internet table tennis.

Owllady · 17/02/2016 18:16

As a noun, shrill is feminine

LordBrightside · 17/02/2016 18:17

"I was laughing for days about that one."

Unlikely.
