To be a bit baffled by the trend for eyebrows that announce their presence 3minutes before the rest of the face?

I had assumed this eyebrow trend was reserved for sellers of strangely overpriced pyramid scheme products (e.g. Forever Living, Youuuunique and our mumsnet favourite Timeless Vie )

But I was at a soft play today and half the women there had eyebrows so fierce they had a life of their own. And I keep seeing posts on our local selling pages of women asking for recommendations where to go to get their eyebrows done like that.

Just baffled by it, but then maybe they are equally baffled by my vaguely-plucked-around-the-edges eyebrows

eyebrows are not meant to have square edges!

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 07/02/2016 18:28

Eyebrow tattoos aren't permanent, they will fade.
Drawn on eyebrows in that weird square shape are hideous. So ugly.

"It's almost like with Katie Price you do a checklist:-"

And then the next checklist is to get photographed in all the obligatory social media type poses that saturate the internet.

Five friends posed in a minidress conga line taken side on.
Circle of friends photographed from below.
Arm around a friend's shoulder with free hand on hip and knee bent inward.

All I can think of are groups of elderly ladies sitting in nursing homes in years to come. All with thinning grey or blonde hair, huge tattooed caterpillar eyebrows and looking in a permanent state of shock!

Destinysdaughter · 07/02/2016 18:30

There are some v scary specimens here!

Oh gosh, yes that photo of Kate Middleton is heading towards the eyebrows-with-a-separate-personality danger zone!

There's one at work who has had the square edged brows tattooed on.

In Jet Black. She was very proud to tell me one Monday morning when I asked 'so how was your weekend?'

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 07/02/2016 18:39

I think Cara Delivegne (sorry I can't spell her surname) the model, started the trend of thick bushy brows? I read an article that it's a feminist statement that women can have thick brows like men.

Lurkedforever1 · 07/02/2016 18:40

irish yes they're all definitely done with an actual sharpie, even if they won't acknowledge it. What happens is the beautician/ comedian says 'just close your eyes while I make sure I get symmetrical effect with my highly technical equipment'. And then whips out a sharpie.

OP your thread title made me chuckle -

This clip immediately sprung to mind Grin

Eyebrow tattoos are intended for those of us who have lost most/all of our natural brow hairs for one reason or another and they've stopped growing back. Mine are tattooed and believe me, I wish it weren't necessary.

FairiesAreReal · 07/02/2016 18:47

If you don't like those eyebrows, how about these? Grin

Love the thread title, OP! Grin

FairiesAreReal · 07/02/2016 18:51

Ha, I think his eyebrows are the least of his problems Grin

Chopsychops · 07/02/2016 18:52

labrador this lady had perfectly normal eyebrows prior to the tattooing.

She went for a square edged jet black very thick tattoo, they are approximately double the thickness of her original eyebrows.

tsipka · 07/02/2016 18:54

Griphook — I was just coming here to say "What, like Kate Middleton?"

But I'd rather have a KM Scouse Brow instead of cholla eyebrows, if I were forced to pick.

Titsywoo · 07/02/2016 18:54

So some of these people have shaved/waxed off their own eyebrows then drawn new ones on?

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 07/02/2016 18:56

I remarked to my friend the other day that I thought she'd drawn her eyebrows on too high.

She looked surprised.

(Thank you Jimmy Carr)

tsipka · 07/02/2016 18:58

Bloody autocorrect. "Chola", not "cholla", obv…although eyebrows made from cacti would be rubbish, too.

tinofbiscuits · 07/02/2016 19:01

I don't like them, but at least they're a change from over-plucked arches. What's wrong with just leaving your eyebrows alone?
