Just had a blazing row with "D"Bro over rinising dishes after washing them.

I went to put a plate I was washing on the drainer and he roared at me for not rinsing it

Confused

Who is the weirdo here?

Well he is for roaring at you but I do try and rinse plates and glasses especially.

cozietoesie · 27/12/2015 15:35

I always rinse them. I don't have 'blazing rows' with people about it though. Do you have disagreements on other matters?

FaFoutis · 27/12/2015 15:35

YABU. Not rinsing is dirty and soapy.

RoganJosh · 27/12/2015 15:35

I don't, nor my DH or my mum, but I can see why some people do.

Thornrose · 27/12/2015 15:35

Ah, the great dish rinse debate! I rinse, lots of people do, but then lots of people don't! Grin

antimatter · 27/12/2015 15:35

Woukd you put a drop of washing liquid into a jug of water and served it?
If the answer is no then he is right but shouting at someone is not on!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 27/12/2015 15:36

He's an arse for shouting at you.

We do rinse under the tap to get rid of any residual soap suds.

Not worth a row.

YouBastardSockBalls · 27/12/2015 15:36

Well he shouldn't 'roar' at you but YABU for not rinsing things. If you don't rinse, the dirty soap bubbles just sit there. Eww.

VimFuego101 · 27/12/2015 15:36

I rinse after washing.

VegetablEsoup · 27/12/2015 15:36

sorry you are the weirdo you asked

areyoubeingserviced · 27/12/2015 15:37

I akways rinse.
In fact I find it weird that people don't rinse.

FruVikingessOla · 27/12/2015 15:37

If you've hand-washed them in washing up liquid, then they do need to be rinsed in clear warm/hot water to get rid of the WUL residue.

But your brother is rather rude to 'roar' at you.

VegetablEsoup · 27/12/2015 15:37

bleurgh to unrinsed dishes

HamaTime · 27/12/2015 15:37

Do you rinse your hair after putting shampoo on?

Kingfisherfree · 27/12/2015 15:37

YABU I always rinse everything under the cold tap after I wash and then put it on the drainer.

IsItMeOr · 27/12/2015 15:37

I never used to rinse, but do since I saw either Kim or Aggie explain why you should. I think it was something to do with rinsing them in hot water, so that you washed off any bugs they might have picked up in the washing up water?

Haffdonga · 27/12/2015 15:37

Washing up liquid contains chemicals that are not good for human consumption. You should always rinse after washing in washing up liquid. (I was told on good authority by a senior chemist.)

btw Brits seem to be the only nation that don't rinse as a matter of course.

Bambambini · 27/12/2015 15:38

I always rinse. I get quite upset watching folk just stack them dripping with suds. Do you like eating soap and chemicals?

mumeeee · 27/12/2015 15:38

I rinse cups and glasses but not plates and dishes as I find soap suds drain off of them or get wiped off easily if drying up straight away. Lots of people rinse everything though..

Enjolrass · 27/12/2015 15:38

I rinse. I don't get why you wouldn't.

A row about it seems ott though

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 27/12/2015 15:39

I always rinse but wouldn't roar about it. I don't want to eat off soapy dishes.

Isetan · 27/12/2015 15:39

I'm a rinser and it seems strange that some people don't, after all you'd rinse your hair, clothes, car etc after washing them.

zoemaguire · 27/12/2015 15:41

Beats me who'd want to eat off dishes with washing up liquid residue on them. Washing up liquid tastes vile. He shouldn't have shouted, but yabu not to rinse!

HellesBelles01 · 27/12/2015 15:41

YAB a tiny bit U for not rinsing. Your brother was BVU for roaring at you.

You were BU to have a row about it. Is there a back story here?

Ta1kinPeece · 27/12/2015 15:42

YABU
Soap tastes horrible

its why I have a dishwasher
