To call my twins Kensington and Chelsea even though we can barely afford to rent in Enfield

Ive always liked the name Chelsea but when I found out we were having twins I thought this would be a genius idea. My family is originally from around there (grandparents and great grandparents lived there) but its way too expensive for me these days.

Dh thinks its a bad idea but I'm really keen on it.

Lol

Chippednailvarnish · 03/11/2015 08:53

I prefer Fulham and Wandsworth.

This is a joke, right?

How about Brixton and Balham?

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 03/11/2015 08:54

Elephant & Castle.

JeffsanArsehole · 03/11/2015 08:54

It worked for the Clintons, but they're American.

I don't like it because I'm not keen on naming your kid after an area or football team. But it's not dreadful is it.

Chippednailvarnish · 03/11/2015 08:55

Notting Hill

The eldest can be Notting, the younger Hill.

GrizzlebertGrumbledink · 03/11/2015 08:57

What about Crystal Palace or Tottenham Hotspur?

ProfessionalPencilSharpener · 03/11/2015 08:57

Camden and Sutton I've heard before...

donotknowhownottomind · 03/11/2015 09:00

Willesden and Green Grin?

If you are serious OP then I think it would be a mistake. Chelsea and another name yes. Kensington would be a weird name. Having to refer to Kensington and Chelsea all the time would be weirder still Confused.

MadHattersWineParty · 03/11/2015 09:00

There was a kid in an East London primary school I worked in called Stepney. Yes, her surname was Green. No joke.

TheXxed · 03/11/2015 09:00

HAHAHAHAHAHA Elephant and Castle Empress you have killed me. Grin

BlueJug · 03/11/2015 09:01

Love - Elephant and Castle Grin

May and Bel (Mayfair and Belgravia) - assuming both are girls

mileend2bermondsey · 03/11/2015 09:01

I'm an East London girl so I'd probably go with Globe Town and Mile End?

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 03/11/2015 09:02
Grin
juneau · 03/11/2015 09:02

You're right - its genius!

mileend2bermondsey · 03/11/2015 09:03

Now that I think about it Bermondsey has a nice ring to it. Bermondsey and Newham perhaps?

PreciousxBane · 03/11/2015 09:05

Nice one op I love a chuckle in the morning.

BlueJug · 03/11/2015 09:06

I think I remember one of the rowers in one of the Oxford v Cambridge boat races being called Hammersmith, or calling his son Hammersmith - but I might have imagined that.

But you'd need another name - Putney perhaps if it is a daughter

magimedi · 03/11/2015 09:07

I once had two cats called Tyrrell & Green.

Older Mnetters who know Southampton will get the reference!

Missdread · 03/11/2015 09:07

High and Barnet?

BlueJug · 03/11/2015 09:08

The thing about names is whatever you are called to people who know you it is just you!

Kensington - Kenny or Ken for short

Cheby · 03/11/2015 09:09

I really wanted to suggest Elephant and Castle but I have been beaten to it. Grin
