I've been thinking about it lately and don't know why. I don't think its jealousy. maybe its because she is getting away with it, and has had unbelievable luck in life with the "singing" and "designing" She is probably nice enough in RL but her pouting and posing just grate.

I like her and admire what she's achieved.

howtorebuild · 01/11/2015 13:09

What has she achieved?

icanteven · 01/11/2015 13:11

How can a complete stranger who has led a pretty blameless existence "disgust" you??

Would you prefer she just sank into oblivion like the rest of the Spice Girls? Does the fact that she said "fuck that" and went out and succeeded pretty spectacularly personally offend you?

ExitStageLeft · 01/11/2015 13:12

Yeah! I bloody hate people that have four kids. Three, well that's fine, but four is just sickening. Confused Imagine their tax credit claim, wankers.

".....in fact, she disgusts me."

Mel B, is that you?

I'd like her more if she just smiled.....that's all.

noeffingidea · 01/11/2015 13:14

What has she achieved? Career as a member of a very sucessful band, followed by a second career as a fashion person. I remember reading Victoria was the more succesful out of the two when they got married. Not sure if it's true as I'm not an expert in these matters.

ExitStageLeft · 01/11/2015 13:15

What has she achieved?

A part in the biggest girl group of all time.
A hugely successful, credible business empire where other famous people chose to wear her stuff when they have the choice of the crop.
A presumably happy marriage.
Four beautiful kids.

I'd be happy.

howtorebuild · 01/11/2015 13:15

Simon Fuller achieved that.

thornrose · 01/11/2015 13:15

Disgusts you? Bloody hell!

squoosh · 01/11/2015 13:15

I don't mind Posh but I can't be down on you OP as I have a long list of people I've never met who twizzle my twazzle.

Lorraine Kelly for one.

I do think though that the Beckhams should have kept their kids out of the spotlight as many other A listers do.

ExitStageLeft · 01/11/2015 13:16

Simon Fuller had the four children for her?

The plot thickens.

howtorebuild · 01/11/2015 13:16

I agree with the four children, not out of the ordinary there though.

howtorebuild · 01/11/2015 13:17

X posts.

ExitStageLeft · 01/11/2015 13:17

Was Simon Fuller anything to do with her fashion career?

Shakey15000 · 01/11/2015 13:17

What has she achieved?

Seriously, you don't know? Or living on another planet the last 20 odd years?? ShockGrin

noeffingidea · 01/11/2015 13:17

I think the spice girls took over their own management at one stage, howtorebuild. In any case, the spice girls were the ones who did the actual work, the performing , etc.

squoosh · 01/11/2015 13:18

Yes apparently Simon Fuller was instrumental in creating VB the fashion brand.

squoosh · 01/11/2015 13:19

And Roland Mouret....

Varya · 01/11/2015 13:20

She never smiles in public. That is why I am not keen on VB.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 01/11/2015 13:24

I agree that Simon Fuller, his PR firm , millions of ££££ and contacts made it possible for VB to build her brand into the empire it is now.

However she has worked fucking hard herself to get it where it is and for that she can't be faulted at all.

howtorebuild · 01/11/2015 13:25

Shaken, I try not to be a marionette. It could be argued some are a marionette to all they read in the press and others to their career management.

Cocolepew · 01/11/2015 13:25

She used to really get on my goat, then Paris Hilton came along and I transferred all my loathing to her.
She never looks very happy tbh. I'm with squoosh I hate loads of people I've never met.

hackmum · 01/11/2015 13:26

I would find it hard to either like or dislike her. Her public persona seems utterly bland and she very rarely makes any comments about anything, as far as I'm aware. Has she ever expressed an opinion on anything? She seems a bit like Kate Middleton in that respect.

icanteven · 01/11/2015 13:26

So, Harvard puts out a lot of research on gender pay imbalance, and basically whiteskyer and timelytess are the reason (put very broadly!).

When men do well professionally and negotiate for higher pay or an improved career trajectory (i.e. David Beckham) the world falls down at their feet. Men respect them, women want to shag the, everything is great.

When a WOMAN pushes for professional and financial success, men say that she is unfeminine, a ball-breaker, a slut, a cunt. And women say the sort of utter crap that has been posted on this thread. All that's missing is "I don't know why he stays married to her".

This is not universal, of course, but it exists enough that women all over the world, both consciously and subconsciously, respond to this by NOT negotiating and NOT pushing, professionally. We don't want to be seen as bitches, basically.

And therefore earn less than men for doing the same jobs.

Until we start celebrating the Victoria Beckhams of this world instead of - or as well as - the David Beckhams, women will continue to hang back, financially.

If the people bashing VB on this thread have any VALID reason to dislike her - i.e. they have met her and she was unpleasant - they should probably mention this.

This is the important article that it stems from
