First post so please be gentle with me, sorry if posted in wrong place but need some sensible advise and fast. I was quite ill at end of feb with pneunmonia and was on a long course of anti biotics and steriods, I use Micronor oral birth control (mini pill). I know they're not effective while on antibiotics but was to ill for panky hanky anyway, I did check with pharmacist if they would still be effective for the time from my last period to start of antibiotics and was told yes so didn't think much more about it. After pneumonia cleared which was about 5 weeks until I was feeling normal again I got an oral absess which dentist said was probably due to being so run down as nothing wrong with my teeth. So another course of 2 different antibiotics, one was amoxicilin and can't remember the other ones names but was told don't take if pregnant, or planning to become pregnant in the next 12 weeks as they're very harmful. Didn't give this a second thought hadn't had sex with dp for along time due to being unwell and had a period since the first lot of antibiotics. I never gave any on this a second thought until last night. I was lying in bed with dp, he was cuddling me and made a crack about me poking his hand which i didn't, but i felt it to and i@m convinced it was a knee I remeber the feeling from carrying our 3 children. I'm now don't know what to do, I'm to scared to test because i don't want the answer. I have had periods when they were due although they have been very light, sorry for spelling and so on in tears as i write this, how could i have been so stupid to of missed this.

Bought a test. And someone mentioned my weight I now weigh 9st 11lb, I was 9st 7lb put on 5lb's which I have been unable to loose. Makes sense if I'm pregnant as I would be 31-32 weeks.

I got pregnant in February and am due in November. That makes me 32 weeks.

I know that some people don't know they are pregnant but I have the following rather obvious symptoms

  • I have grown out of maternity clothes
  • my tummy touches the loo when I bend over to far to sit on it.
  • I can't sit upright for any period of time, nor can I walk that far.
  • I am awake from approx 4am and go to the loo approx 8 times a night
  • I have heartburn. Alcohol makes me feel I'll, as do other foods.
  • I fall asleep most afternoons.
  • it feels like there is a sack of kittens in my stomach - across my whole abdomen.

And you think it might be pregnant because your dh felt something on the outside once???

Take a test.

dontrunwithscissors · 24/09/2015 15:52

Good luck OP. I get muscle twitches in my stomach when very tired or run down that really do feel like kicks.

spanisharmada · 24/09/2015 15:52

Oh OP, well if you are at least now you'll know before the delivery!
Good luck, hope you get the result you want Flowers

BalloonSlayer · 24/09/2015 15:53

OP is not worried that 1200 calories could damage the baby!

The 1200 calories is a reference to it being odd, and therefore potentially significant, that she has put on 5lb and can't lose it despite eating a low calorie diet.

She is worrying in case, despite being so careful not to get pregnant while taking antibiotics or shortly afterwards, it turns out she was already pregnant before she started even the first course of antibiotics.

FFS can't any of you bloody read?

Garrick · 24/09/2015 15:55

Cherry's point about most antibiotics being statistically safe in pregnancy was a good one :)

Good luck, OP!

grumpysquash · 24/09/2015 15:57

Well??? OP, did you do the test?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/09/2015 15:58

Did you test?

INeedHelp02 · 24/09/2015 15:59

This has all come out wrong probably because I am in a fluster. Dp felt it once yes, I have felt it quite a few times but put it down to wind, tummy rumble etc because I have been having periods. They have been very light and are probably only because I am still taking my pill. It was just the fact that dp could feel it to that has made me panic. I'm panicking because I could be 31 ish weeks pregnant and have absolutely no antenatal care. Thank god I don't smoke and I'm tea total. I'm struggling to cope with this if I'm honest, I lost my mum.recently to cancer so have been occupied with my grief not looking out for pregnancy symptoms.

At 31 weeks I looked like I had eaten a big dinner, every woman differs.

GrizzlebertGrumbledink · 24/09/2015 16:01

Just do the test and you can relax

spanisharmada · 24/09/2015 16:02

What Grizzle said, you need to know one way or the other!

Badders123 · 24/09/2015 16:02

Ok.
So do the test.
And then you will know and can act accordingly.
Take a few deep breaths.

FuckYouBitchImWellClassy · 24/09/2015 16:02

Op I am sorry you've lost your mum. Do the test, no point in worrying about maybe.

INeedHelp02 · 24/09/2015 16:03

And no not yet will do as soon as I get home, have dc at after school activities in different places won't be home until after 5pm. No.way I'm testing at ballet

Junosmum · 24/09/2015 16:03

It is highly highly unlikely you have damaged the baby, there are only a handful of drugs which are actually harmful to a foetus. Do the test and let us know how you get on. At least you'll know one way or another. Take care of yourself, you will be fine. And sorry for your loss.

WeShouldOpenABar · 24/09/2015 16:04

Would a test show a positive that far in doesn't the hormone die down after the first few weeks

Could be ibs if not pregnant

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 24/09/2015 16:06

I've been prescribed Amoxicillin when pregnant.

a) take a test
If it's positive then
b) call the dentist and get a record of the prescription you were given and dosage
c) book an appointment with your GP

But common antibiotics that are generally considered safe during pregnancy include penicillins (such as amoxicillin and ampicillin), cephalosporins (such as cephalexin), and erythromycin.

Mrsmorton · 24/09/2015 16:08

At that weight, 1200 cal might not make you lose. You're fairly slim alteady( height dependant)

It does seem very unlikely that you're pregnant. You've already had three DCs so would more than probably have recognised a sign or two before 31 weeks.

Having sad that, hidden pregnancies do happen, albeit very rarely.

I'm also not sure that a pregnancy test would be accurate at such a late stage. Maybe they've improved, but I do remember either reading or being told that they could be unreliable after about 20 weeks. I think you really need to be seeing your GP. And with some urgency!

ThedementedPenguin · 24/09/2015 16:11

Oh wow..
How would you feel if you are pregnant?
