AIBU: What time do you put pyjamas on?

My routine: have evening bath/shower around the same time as the kids, and put on pyjamas. Do bedtime stories in PJs, then downstairs for watching TV with DH, or chat, or video game, whatever. Evening stuff. Then up to bed.

DH believes this is entirely unreasonable and odd behaviour. "Everyone else" only puts on pyjamas at the very moment of going to bed. After evening bath/shower, one should put on proper clothes again and spend the evening properly dressed. He feels that wearing pyjamas in the evening is akin to going to the shops in them, or wearing them all day.

Of course, it's taken him 13 years to confess he does not like my evenings in PJs, and as a big fan of pretty pyjamas, I am both hurt by the confession and considering this a total LTB issue. He wants me to choose between him and my cosy checked pants? No contest.

What say you? Is spending the couple of hours pre-bed in your pyjamas a heinous crime, social faux pas or enormous turn off?

I tend to put pjs on only when going to bed, unless it's a particularly grim day and I've got wet on the way home, in which case I will change into pjs when I get home.

Dh puts pjs on as soon as he gets in from work. They are like thin tracksuit bottoms. He comes in, goes to the loo has a poo and gets into pjs.

Just before bed.

I get changing out of a uniform or a suit if you've been wearing them all day, as they're not the nicest or most comfortable of clothing. I kind of get putting PJs on after an evening bath.

But sorry. If your everyday clothes aren't comfortable enough to wear until near the end of the day, then you're wearing the wrong clothes.

If I'm wearing them then I put them on just before going to bed. I change from work clothes to casual clothes when I get in. I wouldn't want to be eating and drinking in nightwear.
It sounds like you need some more comfortable clothes to wear on an evening, it's evening not bed time.

Kids are bathed and put to bed by 7:30, i then have shower and put my PJs on. We wear casual dress at work so im in jeans and top/jumper all day. I dont want to lounge about on an evening in them.
Every day without fail OH will say "you cant put your PJs on now its too early", however as soon as he gets home he changes out of his suit into comfy clothes which i class as his PJs.

Often after getting DS into bed I will then stick my pjs on so by 8pmish. Other nights though I'll wait till I go to bed so it varies.

Your DH is BU though especially if you've got lots of lovely lounging pjs to choose from.

I'm with the majority that I put PJs on as soon as possible in the evening and at the week-end stay in then as long as possible in the morning.

What a low class bunch, we are!

Literally just text dp asking if he needs me to pick him up (dropping his car for mot) because I'd like to get in pyjamas NOW. His response was that I could and he'd chuck his bike in to get home.
And that's why I love him.

Ive just walked in the door and put my nightie and dressing gown on now, at 17.45. And I don't care.
