Netmums VS Mumsnet

Mumsnet seems more controversial in content to me (well the AIBU section anyway). I previously enjoyed Netmums but find now that I hardly ever go on it. I prefer the "lively" sometimes abrasive discussions on Mumsnet.

Netmums came first did it, explains a lot, they had to start MN for all the banned people to go to.

NM not only has no swearing but is the most passive aggressive, disabling, racist site I've been on. Hate it.

I properly snorted at that fairnotfit. And I'm at work and supposed to be working. I'm sure my colleague is trying to figure out what could possibly be snort-worthy about a document brief.

Seriously though, I've seen people say on here a few time about racism etc across there. I've looked but never been able to cope with the glitter seen any example of it. Anyone got any examples?

I used to go on there. Got told off for posting some help on a payroll question as I was posting from a 'professional point of view' WTF??

I got banned in the end for outing someone in a fit of rage. shame.

I was really annoyed at being banned from netmums - I used to give a lot of good advice on certain topics ( benefits, budgeting etc)to the point where some posters would pm me for help. They banned me for saying that another vile poster should be banned. I then then tried to rejoin under another email address ( IT expert dh said it would be fine and they wouldn't know !!) . Then I got banned for LIFE !!! Can't say I really miss it that much I can still read the threads , I just can't comment.

I was Adele S from Vulcan, that's why I have my username, was just getting to know a few people and have no way of getting back in touch, not that I really need to but still.

That was it sans. The NM's came over to MN raging. It was a forum war . I lasted four days on NM before they banned me for life.......over a McCain baked potato thread #potatogate

The whole NM V MN thing is fucking stupid.

Mumsnet is about the only forum I know of that allows so much swearing and it's great. Makes you wonder what all the others are so afraid of, and makes me laugh when their pathetic puritanical US-Centric automatic sensor software removes expressions like cockup.

Although I did get banned for life from NM for telling them they were being trolled by 4chan.

Yes sparkling vacuous can be excellent but at least over here you can choose where to go depending on what mood you're in. Vacuous = chat, shit stirring, bunfighty = AIBU

I don't understand the appeal of MN because you can swear. it's not compulsory or anything.
