And now 3 years later, we have reached a point where he is dry in the day in places he knows and semi reliable outside the home. They are getting funny because i DON'T want him in a nappy during a school trip.

I can't win, it's a fucking joke. up until now they've been pushing to get rid of the nappies, he starts showing some improvement and they don't want the responsibility of taking spare clothes.

It makes me angry.

Well done pirate. I hope they do make the changes in time.

Jaderuby · 25/06/2015 13:26

Pirate assume he's 7or 8, does he have school swimming lessons, does he wear a nappy in the pool?
I could understand the health and safety aspect of this i would would continue to use one.

Piratejones · 25/06/2015 15:10

He doesn't go near the water for swimming, but yes I still use a swim nappy for obvious reasons.

Any news on this OP?

Piratejones · 15/07/2015 07:45

He went in pants and refused to use to toilets there, but managed to hold it until he got back to school. Not ideal but at least he didn't pee himself.

Reading this thread and feeling really shocked by some of the comments !

Well done to minipirate , that's fantastic , hope he is really pleased with himself Smile

Just a thought for the future , for yourself and school , you can get plastic lidded bottles specifically for weeing in . Might be useful on longer trips and if he still struggles with using strange or different toilet facilities , if he would be happy to use one that is .

Thank you frumpet, anything is worth a try.

Hi i know this is an old thread but My 8 year olds school has started getting funny with diapers. We have put him back into diapers at the request of his doctor as he is going through a big patch of regression.
He has autism, he is verbal but is about 4 year behind in his vocabulary and understanding, we've had a lot of issue with withholding and wetting and constipation over the years.
What are my rights with regards to the school, they say i need to be on hand so i can come and change him but i work and i can't get time off every time he's wet?

@batouttawell

You need to start your own thread on this but as you say “diapers”, if you’re in the US, knowledge maybe lacking.

batouttawell · 09/10/2018 13:25

Thank i will do that, I'm Canadian but we're living in the UK.
