To ask why we can't have a sex board?

We have one for everything else under the sun after all.!

But every time anyone says anything to do with sex in Chat or AIBU it gets a suspicious response. Couldn't we just have one that's not accessible unless you're a logged in user?

Well I looked at the Lovehoney boards and I can't say I was very impressed with the quality of discussion.

Examples of discussions are as follows:

"Pegging"

Responses: "My wife has been doing me up the bum for 15 years. She's now progressed to a 'peg' 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

As Grantaire says, we have discussed a few times and we've always dismissed because we didn't want it to be a troll magnet. But the idea of only allow members who been on MN for a while to post is one worth thinking about it - let me have a conflab with Tech see how much work it would be. (At the moment I've embargoed any new development while we work through every page to make sure it's fully mobile-friendly).

I couldn't ask sex questions of my closest friends - we just don't have that kind of friendship. One is prude who would probably die on the spot, one is a lesbian who thinks heterosexual sex is vile, and one is dead (she was the one with whom no conversation was off limits). I'm sure I'm not the only person who has no-one in real life to discuss matters of a sexual nature with.

I agree that it would be a good idea to corral all questions related to sex into one area. Then the folks that would rather be baking or crotcheting can ignore it, and those that are genuinely (but not thigh-rubbingly) interested can air our curiosities without fear of being run out of Dodge.

Besides, I have a burning question that I'm dying to ask that contains the words 'poo' and 'bumhole' - no way I'm risking putting that in Relationships! [embarrassed]

Don't you have any mates? There are also already tens of thousands of places where you can go and talk about your sex life. FFS.

This makes me laugh - half the posts on here are things you can ask your mates, a sex board would be more fecking useful than "AIBU to put pans in the dishwasher" for example......

I respectfully suggest this be moved to classics, and have done with the whole sorry idea

I'd spend time reading posts on a sex board if there was one. As long as there weren't too many men allowed on it.

Ok so there is a bit tech involved in building a mechanism so that you can only post if you've been a member for a bit but it's on Tech's list now and he should get to it in the next month or so. Then we can test it out and see if it's a good idea or liable to incite merry hell, as John Major might put it.
