To ask why we can't have a sex board?

But every time anyone says anything to do with sex in Chat or AIBU it gets a suspicious response. Couldn't we just have one that's not accessible unless you're a logged in user?

Just look for the thread more. I expect it's still there. There's some good laundry tips on it.

I prefer them coming up in the other topics as part of the rich tapestry of discussion. I fear a "sex" topic would just be trolls thigh rubbing, and there are definitely some genuine, non Pervy sex threads on here.

I have used the boards on LoveHoney to ask questions and they honestly didn't seem to be overrun with rabid pervs, just normal people who were perfectly pleasant and helpful.

Plenty of posters are only too happy to discuss their sex lives on MN.

I think it's a great idea, why shouldn't a group of grown women have a place to post about sex issues/questions/preferences? I've seen other sites with topics for sex-related questions and they didn't seem to be packed with pervs and trolls to me. They seemed to be full of helpful and knowledgeable people.

By the way - you don't have to be some friendless weirdo to want to discuss sex on the Internet. There are some things I wouldn't talk about with my mates, I'd be too embarrassed.

That's the whole point of MN isn't it? To garner a large number of opinions or advice under the blessed cover of anonymity? Why shouldn't we have a sex board for the same purpose?

I'd like a sex board please! I'm far too repressed to ever discuss it in real life and so I'm in a constant state of anxiety about what's normal and what isn't! And if anyone posts about sex on the other boards they tend to be treated as trolls. Plus this is an anonymous forum so why not?

I picture a sex board being somewhat like a Twister board, with "place foot here... now place hand here" markers, plus a few extra options. And a wipe-clean surface, of course.

I would also read such a board and would also find talking about such things face to face with friends embarrassing.

Yeah, right. It's not as if a long term poster has ever turned out to be a troll. Oh, hang on.

I think this is a dreadful idea. There are plenty of places to post threads about anything you can think of. And most topics are under used anyhow. We get enough sex trolls as it is (and it's been worse since PB). Add a sex board and there will be more, not fewer.

And I think the idea of MNHQ proactively moderating a topic is a huge policy change. Not one I would welcome. The lack of moderation is one of the things I like about this site.
