A continuation of this thread, which is far too good to just die now that it's reached 1000 comments!

will.i.am was everything I didn't think he would be. Fantastic guy, so down to earth, charismatic and did an impromptu performance of 'I've Got a Feeling'
Gloria Hunniford was an absolute sweetheart and is about as tall as my 10 year old! A consummate professional and spoke very beautifully about Caron Keating.
Sir Rod Stewart was taller than I imagined but not as tall as Penny Lancaster-Stewart. Both very pleasant, happy to pose for selfies and Penny is beautiful.
Sir Cliff Richard was pleasant but looked like the last two years have taken their toll on him.
Jennifer Hudson - again teeny tiny, very pretty and also very professional. Sounds exactly like she did in Sex in the City!
A couple of very well known Class of 92 Man Utd/England players - great guys, who are very private and do not court the media one bit. As a consequence one of the players is left alone when he is out and about.
Sandi Toksvig - worked with her on about 5 years ago. Highly intelligent, very quick-witted and very friendly. DH thought it was very amusing that she sat chose to sit next to me at lunch three days on the runGrin Lovely lady.

PeachBellini123 · 25/10/2016 08:17

Alex Jones and Matt Baker - both friendly. Alex was a real sweetheart and took the time to speak to people (they were doing a photoshoot at my work place).

Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding - they were touring The Mighty Boosh quite a few years ago. Both very sweet but the latter was high as a kite.

Tony Benn - a gentleman.

Ronnie O'Sullivan - literally bumped into him at an airport. Unassuming guy who obviously didn't want to be recognised but excused me blurting out his name Blush

trufflepiggy · 25/10/2016 08:26

Henry Cavill - creepy and seemed a bit of a bully

David Beckham - lovely, polite, charming

Guy Ritchie - lovely

Rosie Huntington Whitely ( or however you spell it) - shockingly thin, I was actually worried about her

CoraPirbright · 25/10/2016 08:47

Rory Bremner - utterly charming, genuinely warm and lovely
Richard E Grant - nice and chatty
James Purefoy - possibly a bit of a lech, gave me the glad eye walking along the street (I was pushing my baby in a pram Shock)
David Shepherd (wildlife artist) - so rude and horrible to me I actually had a little weep.
Dara O'Brian - hugely tall, amusing, charming and warm.

RavenclawRemedials · 25/10/2016 08:53

Many years ago I was in a newsagent in Kensington High Street picking up my Evening Standard (I'd been visiting an exhibition in Olympia for work) when I saw a white-haired man march in and randomly start berating the staff. One of the girls, when she got her breath back, said 'Excuse me sir - you're banned' just as he marched out again. It was apparently a news presenter who is well known for his rainbow ties.

DearTeddyRobinson · 25/10/2016 09:48

Jay Kay (of jamiroquai fame), friendly, slightly jittery. Met him in the car park of my old flats, also in tesco!
John Major, polite, friendly
Janice Dickinson, weird, arrogant, probably coked up
Stereophonics, lovely, down to earth, hard working
Brad Pitt : utterly gorgeous, softly spoken, friendly. I loved him with all the fervour of my 20 year old heart and he didn't disappoint! Also taller than I expected!

BowieFan · 25/10/2016 10:02

Annoyingly, John Major was absolutely lovely when I met him. He's probably the only Tory I could ever vote for - he does actually seem like a real person.

Tony Blair was awful, Cherie as well. Princess Diana was absolutely lovely, as was Princess Anne.

Cilla Black was absolutely vile to my brother and I've heard the same from other people. Met Rolf Harris when I was a kid and found him creepy then. There was something just off about him, like he had two sides to him. Turns out I was right on that one!

BowieFan · 25/10/2016 10:10

My kids' granddad (they're adopted) has worked on a lot of films in Bulgaria in his profession. He said Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Pierce Brosnan, Ryan Reynolds, Gerard Butler, Antonio Banderas, Emma Thompson, Liam Hemsworth and Milla Jovovich were absolutely lovely and charming. Sharon Stone was fun, as are the cast of Plebs (also shot in Bulgaria) and Antonio Banderas is apparently ridiculously fun to be around.

He doesn't like Jean Claude Van Damme, found him arrogant. Same for Steven Seagal and Stephen Baldwin. He said Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson were both quiet but very nice to everyone on the crew. Someone got injured on the set of Expendables 3 and without telling anyone Mel paid for the person to get private treatment as well as paying their full salary and for their family to come out and visit them.

ThymeLord · 25/10/2016 10:13

I've met Brian Blessed. He was in a motorway service station cafe eating breakfast. This would have been in the late 80s maybe early 90s. He was loud, friendly and kept clapping my dad very heartily on the back Grin

ThymeLord · 25/10/2016 10:14

My dad has met Harrison Ford by virtue of knowing Kenny Baker. He said he was very 'normal'. Quite blokey and witty.

Jengnr · 25/10/2016 12:39

Anyone met Slash?

No, just me? :D

He was lovely, really sweet and I was utterly utterly starstruck.

I've met a few others, sadly not Anthony Head though :( I've also never slept with Russell Brand.

weresquirrel · 25/10/2016 12:54

All of Monster Magnet are a bunch of cunts.

sn0wdr0p4 · 25/10/2016 13:39

Diana Ross, not necessarily nasty but definitely a Diva. My daughter was a dresser for her briefly. She was not allowed to look at "Miss Ross" and had to hand all her outfits through a curtain!

David Dickinson, a misogynist prat.

John Culshaw, friendly and pleasant despite having his first class carriage invaded by a gaggle of Girl Guides overexcited by their first trip to London.

Gwyneth Paltrow, nice but possibly high maintenance.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 25/10/2016 14:53

Jengnr if my memory serves me right a Mumsnetter did more than just meet Slash Shock. It was on another (very funny) thread.

raspberrysuicide · 25/10/2016 15:28

I said this on the other thread I think...
Anne bloody who?
Princess Bloody Ann!

raspberrysuicide · 25/10/2016 16:39

And I once got chatted up by Warwick Davis!

UnderCoverGuvnor · 25/10/2016 16:52

Aled Jones - what a lovely man! He took time out of a very busy schedule to visit my sons special school to watch the choir rehearse. He was so encouraging to the students and interacted in a really natural way.

Lifegavemelemons · 25/10/2016 17:12

My friend's dd works in the US and for many years worked on stage lighting for large gigs. She said the absolutely most wonderful big star she worked with was Neil Diamond- a total gentleman who treated everybody, including lowly stage crew like herself, with total respect and was friendly and approachable.

notagainnellie · 25/10/2016 18:18

I have two nice Jeremy Irons stories to buck the trend. Someone I once worked with told a story about when she found herself sitting next to him on a Ryanair flight to the south of France. They were waiting to take off and she wanted to speak to him but not ask for his autograph or tell him who he was, and she finally said, 'I wish we'd hurry up and take off.' He looked at her and said in a very actorly voice, 'are you a stowaway?' Not nice exactly, but funny and made her happy.

My ex was an extra on a film JI was in (don't think it ever got released) and he said JI was very friendly and spent a lot of time talking to the extras and reminiscing with one who was studying to be a social worker about his own time as a social worker. So there...

OhWotIsItThisTime · 25/10/2016 20:27

Prince Edward - nice, takes time out to talk to less important people.
Antony Daniels (c3p0) - kind, generous, very dry sense of humour.
Charles Campion (overweight food critic who pops up on Masterchef) - v entitled and boorish.
Sean Ryder - friendly, lovely.
Mary Berry - as nice as she appears on telly.

Littlegreyauditor · 25/10/2016 21:32

Princess Anne has my undying affection because she met my horse (when he did work for the RDA), fed him a polo, scruffled his forelock and called him a "delightful, handsome chap". She is a woman of exquisite taste and has my vote should she ever decide to take the throne.

Chris Hadfield, the astronaut, is unfailingly lovely.

Michael Palin was gorgeous to me when I got in a tizzy with the excitement of meeting a real live Python and forgot my own name (which he was supposed to be writing in his book and signing for me). A real gentleman, I refuse to listen to anything bad about him.

I have never met ASH, to my eternal regret. Nor have I slept with Russell Brand, I have nothing to regret there.

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 25/10/2016 23:27

I attended the same primary school as Melanie Sykes and I remember her as quite a nice kid. She took the time to explain the plot of Wuthering Heights to me as we walked round the playground and told me how her family were planning to move to Stevanage. I don't think they ever did. Still never got round to reading Wuthering Heights though Grin

andrewjones62 · 26/10/2016 09:26

So I am showing my age here...And! going into 80's C list Pop Star territory.

Met the following while working at HMV Oxford Street.

Brother Beyond - Arrogant twats...( were very young though )
Got chatted up by Kim Mazelle ( so of course she was lovely :0) Very loud, friendly, a little scary.

Toya - Down to earth, Chatty.
Sonia - Absolute idiot, rude and self important
Transvision Vamp - all of them were very chilled and friendly.
Jason Donavan - Arrogant twat, haughty and entitled.
Paul Johnson (soul singer) Very Humble, nice chap.
