A continuation of this thread, which is far too good to just die now that it's reached 1000 comments!

My brother used to drive a van around in London. He flashed to let a guy in a convertable out of a petrol station. The guy flipped him the middle finger for no reason. It was Piers Morgan.

MissBattleaxe · 22/04/2015 20:05

This must be the most addictive thread ever. My to do list has gone to hell since the first thread. Getting nothing done so I have had to make a new to do list.

To do
"rack brain to remember famous people stories for MN thread"
"fit Anthony Head with discreet tracking device"

MissBattleaxe · 22/04/2015 20:07

Ooh I just remembered one. My old flatmate used to go to Blondie concerts and hang round the stage door to meet Debbie Harry. He said she was always lovely to fans, took time to let them have photos etc and smelled lovely.

Koalafications · 22/04/2015 20:15

Thanks for the new thread Sansarya

I'm not surprised that Katherine Jenkins is a diva. She comes across as such a dick when she's on TV.

mytitiferssungtheirsong · 22/04/2015 20:15

I'm more interested in the glamorous jobs seemingly held by mnetters! I feel this could be a new thread.

I actually used to have quite a boring job but met the following through work:
Jake Gyllenhaal-lovely, down to earth, not as tall as I expected and a rather high forehead!
Denise van outen-swanned in and swanned out of event, quite standoffish
Mr Motivator-high maintainance

Not met AH...yet!

notnowbono · 22/04/2015 20:17

oh yes, James May, utterly charming. I had to email him about something for work and we ended up having quite a long and funny back-and-forth about, surprise surprise, cars. I have definitely archived the emails

Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2015 20:20

Envy bono.

DVO-would be v surprised if she was lovely.

DidoTheDodo · 22/04/2015 20:28

Karren Brady let me down twice - at two different charities.
Jo Brand laughed at my joke
Robbie Williams did a private concert for disabled children where I worked, and then gave me a !is!
Jason Leonard (rugby) very rudely conducted his own business whilst on charity time.

DidoTheDodo · 22/04/2015 20:31

Oh, nearly forgot, surfed the same wave as Thom Yorke!

Stanky · 22/04/2015 20:39

My mum sold a knitted baby cardigan to Bob Geldof and Paula Yates at a county show. They might have been expecting Peaches at the time. Dm said that the whole family looked like they needed a good bath.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2015 20:55

Nobody is allowed to tell me Freddie Mercury is an arse even if it is true I will do the 'La La La' fingers in ears thingie. Wink

bookworm9229 · 22/04/2015 21:33

Bill Bailey at dad's school.really lovely
Carol Vorderman very down to earth and self deprecating
Trevor Mcdonald. Charismatic unbelievably bright, very funny
AH gutted I have never met him

YouTheCat · 22/04/2015 21:38

Freddie Mercury couldn't have been anything less than fabulous because he loved cats. Fact in my mind Grin

SunshineBossaNova · 22/04/2015 21:38

I used to work at a charity and Brian Blessed came to help publicise an event. He was, unsurprising, VERY VERY LOUD.

The photographer had all the staff outside surrounding BB for the picture. He asked J, a woman in her 60's standing behind him, her name. Then as the photographer was about to say 'cheese' he shouted 'J GET YOUR HAND OFF MY ARSE!' and made us all laugh. Grin

FarFromAnyRoad · 22/04/2015 21:44

Sooooooooooooo - would this be a good place to confess to not knowing - truly not knowing - who that actual fucketty fuck Anthony Head is?

I don't watch much telly Blush

Koalafications · 22/04/2015 21:50

Shock I think this may be the worst thread to confess that FarFrom

ArcheryAnnie · 22/04/2015 21:51

Anthony Head - started off as the man in the Gold Blend ad, then famous for being in a bunch of long-running stuff that was both cultish and still is wildly popular.

He was Giles the Watcher in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Uther Pendragon in Merlin, Herc in Cabin Pressure and last but most definitely not least, Mr Gently Benevolent in Bleak Expectations.

He's got a lovely singing voice, too.

londonrach · 22/04/2015 21:55

..and seems to have meet most the mntters (im not part of the those that have meet ah club)

OMGBabyNo3 · 22/04/2015 22:03

FarFrom-I just googled him as I too didn't know. Recognised him instantly though if that makes it a little better Blush

LOVE this thread!!

So mine are:

Simon Cowell-super polite, friendly, charming
Sheridan Smith-hilarious, friendly, pissed!
Steven Gerrard-v friendly (love him)
John Terry-also vfriendly (this was 10 yrs ago
Dermot o Leary-lovely, scrummy and gorgeous just as you'd expect
Perry Fenwick (Eastenders)-v chatty and down to earth
Olivia Coleman-friendly, gracious, sweet
Eamon and Ruth-v friendly and down to earth

phlebasconsidered · 22/04/2015 22:06

I would LOVE to meet Brian Blessed. Whenever I am reading a story at school I always try to do a Brian Blessed for one of the voices.

I second Michael Rosen for being just really, really, smashing. He used to live near me when I lived in London and I'd taken my class to the Poetry Library to see him one time so he recognised me often and would always smile. He was so considerate in his answers to all the children at the readings, too. You could tell he liked kids, wasn't just there for the cash.

Binkybix · 22/04/2015 22:18

I met Brian Blessed when I was very young and slightly off my face. He was very friendly and tolerant me and my friends!

benefoots · 22/04/2015 22:18

Not so much celebs but met the whole of towie cast when they were filming at the sugar hut.
Dan Osborne really stood out as polite and took time to take photos and chat. As did Elliott Wright and surprisingly Fern.
Gemma Collins an absolute cow. Put her head down and was particularly rude.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2015 22:29

Oooh just remembered another one.

Tom Baker (Dr Who, the only Dr Who IMO ) in Waitrose. (Back in the late 90s)

Heard his voice well before I saw him. He was very loud, (but nice) and flirty at the deli .
Not a " Don't you know" type but I think everyone did Grin

shadowfax07 · 22/04/2015 22:46

Can we please start an 'I am one of the few who hasn't met Anthony Head' club please? I'm beginning to feel left out!

(Alternatively, does anyone have a horse that needs TTouch therapy that they could lend me?)

fulltothebrim · 22/04/2015 22:51

Don't worry shadow- this whole thread is a poorly disguised stealth boast.
