A continuation of this thread, which is far too good to just die now that it's reached 1000 comments!

I don't think I've met that many celebrities, certainly not recently anyway!

I have met several members of the Royal family, do they count as celebrities?

Queen Mum visited our army base with the Queen - really lovely, both of them
I met Prince Charles (he was quite pally with my Grandad too) when my choir sang a special concert for him. He was really nice too.

Timmy Mallet - what an arrogant wanker. My little sister, who was only 5 or 6 at the time, was standing on a low wall so that she could see him when he arrived. He rudely brushed past everyone and knocked her flying off the wall. He didn't even stop and apologise!

When I was at Donnington Monsters of Rock festival as a giddy teenager, I turned around from collecting my beer and spilt it all over Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row). He was wearing a very (un)fetching pair of blue leather trousers so didn't get too wet but he laughed and bought me some new beers. My friends didn't believe me when I got back to them Grin

Whilst at an Ozzy Osbourne gig (I'd gone to it because one of my favourite bands at the time was supporting him), I decided to while away the time in the bar and it was completely empty...apart from all the band members of the band I'd gone to see (Fear Factory)! I was thrilled and sat and had a pint with them. They were all very lovely and signed my gig ticket for me.

Whilst hanging out in the Red Bull F1 factory (my husband was doing some work there so I tagged along), Christian Horner opened the door for me Grin. He's not really a celeb outside of the F1 world but I was a bit awestruck so only managed a 'thank you'

The daughter of 'celebrity' chef Marcus Bean goes to my children's school so I regularly bump into him in the playground. His wife regularly promotes him as 'celebrity chef Marcus Bean' but I've never actually seen him on the TV Wink

Most of mine are a bit 'further back'.

Anita Harris and Jimmy Cricket are two of the nicest professional performers I have ever met. Just lovely to everyone. Emma Samms (ex Dynasty) stunningly beautiful and very down to earth. John Inman very old school courteous. Noel Edmonds really friendly.

Jonathan Pryce and Kevin Whately also really nice. Ian MacNeice (Bert Large on Doc Martin) a good laugh.

Dame Angela Lansbury just phenomenally lovely. Ditto Dame Judi Dench.

Jeremy Irons was a total cock.

I know someone that has played lead violin with an orchestra that has accompanied several concerts for Katherine Jenkins and he thought she was lovely and not at all a diva.

I haven't met Anthony Head. I saw him on stage some years ago as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance. Quite honestly one of the worst professional performances I have ever seen on any stage. Don't care how nice he might be, he was really really shit.

dougierose · 28/04/2015 14:02

DrSeth

How very dare you???

funnyossity · 28/04/2015 14:07

Dear God I hope Anthony isn't reading this! Shock

redshoeblueshoe · 28/04/2015 14:09

DrSeth

Nooooooooooooooooooo

dougierose · 28/04/2015 14:24

I once sat next to Samantha Cameron plus her friend on a train when she was about 12. She was wearing a barbour and was very quiet and understated. But very very very posh. And she still had her long face which is why I know it was her. And when we both disembarked the train at York she was met by some even more posh people.

Do I win?

Frizzcat · 28/04/2015 14:35

I wish I'd known that sex scandal for Thomas the tank engine. Might have made reading those books to DS more interesting. They really were dull but ds was captivated by them.

Gruntfuttock · 28/04/2015 14:45

dougierose How did you know who she was when she was 12?

Skylander1 · 28/04/2015 14:45

Adam peaty -swimmer, lovely lad

Coumarin · 28/04/2015 19:51

DrSeth! Shock If I had pearls I'd be clutching them. How very dare you! Shock

Coumarin · 28/04/2015 19:53

I had a crush on Jimmy Cricket when I was about 4. Grin The shame! Glad to hear he's nice.

Now if someone could tell me Basil Brush is a good egg then that'd be 4 year old me happy.

phlebasconsidered · 28/04/2015 19:56

Ever since this thread came up and the niceness of AH became apparent, I have wasted hours revisiting Buffy (not at all obsessively, no.) He was hot as a librarian. Although I have to say that in my decade long stint as a real librarian, I never actually saw a hot male one. (Shuffles off t put kids in bath and watch more Buffy.)

dougierose · 28/04/2015 22:04

Grunt Obvs I didn't at the time, but as soon as she got in the public eye I thought she looked familiar and racked my brains as to why, then I remembered the train journey. Her parents live just north of York.

fadingfast · 28/04/2015 22:19

I once met Hugo Speer at a work do.

Fit.

Welshmaenad · 28/04/2015 23:08

Well, that made my night.

exmrs · 28/04/2015 23:27

Fading fast tell me you did the hot stuff dance behind him!

ArcheryAnnie · 29/04/2015 08:54

My goodness, Welsh. Oh, DrSeth, there's plenty here who would have had your Rocky Horror ticket off you happily, no trouble.

ArcheryAnnie · 29/04/2015 08:57

Just read your post again DrSeth - I see you saw pirate-king-AH not crossdressing-AH. Would still be happy to travel back in time for your ticket.

EachandEveryone · 30/04/2015 09:24

Isn't Peter Kay supposed to be miserable or am I mixing him up ?

EquinoxEclipse · 30/04/2015 12:41

I've always heard bad stuff about Peter Kay, but I now work with someone who has met him several times in a professional capacity, he's told me that he's one of the nicest people he's ever met Confused

I met Daniella Westbrook early last year. She'd just driven home from an Essex nightclub but was so eat arsed she could barely walk.

She then went on to snort a large line of coke. I told her I thought it was really sad to see her do that and she replied 'don't look then". Cheeky cow...

demonchilde · 04/05/2015 19:28

Ffs- 'rat' arsed

bruffin · 04/05/2015 20:37

Deminchile
i have the same surname and she used to live close by but i didnt realise how close at the time. We used to get phone calls for a week asking for D . I didnt click straight away but the man was quite menacing sounding. I reported it to police in the end and the calls stopped.

demonchilde · 04/05/2015 22:18

Hmmm... Doesn't take a genius to work out what that was probably in relation to.

When I met her, she had just had to move area after having her house ransacked for the third time. I used to feel quite sorry for her, but not so much after that encounter. Any sympathy is more for her children - what a horrible way to live.
