Yes, yes, I know he is an adult, and I am not his mother, etc.

I also told my nearly 18 year old son that he would never be allowed to play violent and misogynistic games like that in my home.

And now his father has bought it, and I am not pleased. But he, obviously, thinks I am being stupid.

Am I?

I think the only issue for me would be that I hadn't allowed son to buy it but then the Dad buys it. However, he is an adult and is allowed to play it.

I would never ever tell my DP what she could or couldn't buy. Kids or not

What else do people do together?

We costume as a family and attend Comic Cons all over the country. As well as the generic family stuff, blackpool, swimming, park, walks. The DCs have also took to yurting, they love it.

I want to take my children to Living History stuff. I used to love Living History when I was a young un.

So expense to kit up, though...

What else do people do together?

We play cards & board games, do voluntary work, help out with a sports club, go for walks, occasionally watch a DVD at home together. Eat nice meals, drink & chat Smile

Oak maiden, it does cost a small fortune sadly but if you join groups or forums you can find better deals for all the pieces you need. I have friends in the Sealed Knot who have an awesome time doing reenactments and weekends away doing the 'living history' with likeminded people. She makes a lot of the costumes for her family. My family and I are also part of a costuming group (I can't go into it too much as I'd out myself) but we are Sci fi orientated. Massive geeks in this household.

Sisterofpercy, snap!!! Haha

StrawberryTot · 15/04/2015 23:07

Sisters sorry

SistersofPercy · 15/04/2015 23:32

Haha strawberry!
TK34343 here, hopefully DZ34343 as well soon. Great fun, not the cheapest of hobbies though. I'm married to a scout trooper and DD is a snow trooper. I have a sneaking suspicion we may be adding a sandy as well soon.

We'll probably walk past each other at cons!

SistersofPercy · 15/04/2015 23:34
