Bit of a weird one I know, But this is AIBU and I see weird sh*t here all the time so I'm sure none of you will choke on your pearls! Anyhow...
DP has always expressed a preference for me being shaven down there. Fairenough, we all have our preferences. I'm currently pregnant and due to feeling like death I dont feel like doing shower aerobics to get every last bit of hair.... We've still been having sex pretty regularly, every 1-2 days. However now DP has decided that he'd rather not have sex with me until I shave again... because it "feels and looks weird" like your penis maybe? WIBU to never shave again?

I shave everything as does DP not his legs though lol.

It's itchy and uncomfortable I don't sleep with my DP when he's hairy for the pure fact of I don't like it it's itchy, uncomfortable and quite frankly if I could shave up till the day I gave birth so can he.

28+6 and still shaving, just do it looking in the mirror whilst showering or go blind.

And some posters need to calm down jeez Confused

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 04/04/2015 17:32

Wrapped I know, I know. I let myself be trolled.

I've had a calming Magnum and kissed my baby's head, much better Grin

WrappedInABlankie · 04/04/2015 17:34

There were a lot of fucks in your comments haha

I don't have a baby's head to kiss but I don't have mint magnum Wink

of course yanbu! I normally shave almost daily but currently also heavily pregnant and only manage to be limber enough to do a shoddy job every 3-5 days! DP understands mind you i've also told him love making is off the cards anyway Grin

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 04/04/2015 18:04

Oh ffs. Relieved to hear you're already in a compound. Have a super evening.

FructoseTart · 04/04/2015 18:07

DP holds a mirror for me whilst I'm in the shower so I can see. My preference, he wouldn't be bothered if it needed a hedge trimmer on it.
I'm 28 weeks pregnant. I asked him in previous pregnancy to do it for me and he was abysmal.
Mirror thing definitely works

Sallystyle · 04/04/2015 18:19

Lots of fucks here Grin

I'll fucking report you was funny!

Sallystyle · 04/04/2015 18:22

There is nothing lighthearted about your husband thinking men who like shaved pubes are dodgy weirdos though.

Shame you can't take the insult back without having a tantrum.

CaspianSea · 04/04/2015 18:39

I'm shocked so many ppl think it's ok not to trim/tidy up down there even if partner finds it a turn-off. Is it also ok not to shower, not to style your hair, not to dress nicely? Personally I find it a bit repulsive to not make any effort to trim and tidy your pubic hair. My DH doesn't mind either way and often nags me to grow mine but I prefer to keep it trimmed short, and I wax or shave bikini line. I just feel fresher, cleaner and better groomed. BTW I am pregnant too. If I was at swimming pool and saw someone with pubes hanging out of their costume I'd feel queasy!!

Sallystyle · 04/04/2015 18:42

I'm glad you find me repulsive for not tidying down there.

I make a lot of effort with my appearance. Just not my pubes.

I shower, so I am no smellier than anyone else down there.

What is repulsive about hair? Are my arm hairs repulsive? Is it repulsive when I have stubble on my legs? you obviously equate pubes with dirty. That's a shame.

Sallystyle · 04/04/2015 18:46

Oh and yes, it is fine not to style your hair or dress nicely if you don't want to.

I find it more repulsive how so many buy into society's idea that pubes equal unattractive. That's not to those who prefer to be shaved, just those who find others who don't repulsive or would feel sick at seeing some pubes in a swimming costume.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 04/04/2015 18:50

Oh God. What insult? It wasn't a bloody insult. It wasn't bloody aimed at anyone.

Have you actually read some of the comments from page one of this thread? And this draws your fire? Incredible.

Okay, so roll up. Here is the comment My DH also prefers some hair thank fuck - he thinks no pubic hair is dodgy and for weirdos Grin

So we have a patently lighthearted comment, about no-one in particular, didn't specify whether the weirdo was male or female, and here's the biggie - even if he was deadly serious, he would be entitled to hold that opinion. Even on Mumsnet.

I don't give a shit about anyone's pubic hair. But if anyone wants to think that no pubes is weird, are you serious that they are insulting the shaven of the four corners of the world by simply having that opinion?

I'm unlikely to stand back whilst a troll calls my DH repellant names. He's a fucking brilliant individual, and I won't 'av it.

alrayyan · 04/04/2015 18:51

I couldn't care less what other people do. I don't mind hairy people at the beach etc. I'm not sure I would notice someone else's pubes and if I do then they are way too close to me!

Sallystyle · 04/04/2015 18:53

You won't 'av it..

Are you five?

Silvercatowner · 04/04/2015 18:57

I'm another person you would find repulsive, Caspian. I am as nature intended down there (and all over, really....). It wouldn't occur to me to 'trim' - why on earth would I? I honestly don't get, so many societal expectations.

Excellent way to spend that time, then. Well done you. Cheerio then.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 04/04/2015 19:16

There are men out there who won't shag their lovely wives coz of a bit of hair??

And people are defending them??

Blimey.

JustGiveUpGatekeeper · 04/04/2015 19:20

To simplify, the issue isn't about baldy or not, it's about the fact your husband is emotionally blackmailing you to present yourself in a particular manner that is physically appealing to him, yet not considering your limitations to achieve thus whilst carrying his child.

There only seems 3 options here. Make him shave you how he likes it, ask him to pay for a beautician to come out regularly and do the job, or ignore him and enjoy your pregnancy.

Bald has been around since it became popular in porn, it's not a generational thing. I'm 46 and my first 2 boyfriends in my 20s never never had a preference, yet neither of them used porn (yes, really. No mags, no Internet usa, no films). Then my 3rd boyfriend in my 30s who was a prolific porn user demanded bald. But he never suggested it was linked to preferring pre-pubescent females, he was just obsessed with that region and I think if we are all honest, it's obvious that a mouthful of hair isn't as nice as bare, silky skin and the contours of that region, so the paedophile references are just daft.
My current boyfriend is probably happy with just a neat region, but again, not a porn user (to my knowledge).
As a pattern's emerged, I'm therefore sticking to the conclusion that porn is highly responsible for fashion in the region and not paedophiles!

alrayyan · 04/04/2015 19:24

I do not believe there are very many men who actually do refuse to go near their partner because of too much or too little hair. If there are then I must have missed something. I have been with a fair old few partners and it's never come up so to speak..It would be a huge red flag to me. Not because of their preference but that level of control? weird. Sure say what you like, talk about it but. refuse. to. go. near. you? run women, run for the hills.
