To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

soup I think the assumption is that they have sold their story and with that the assumption that it will be in a positive light for them. However I am not so sure on either point.

I can't see them selling a story about how they ripped people off.

I am quietly hoping a paper has picked up on the backlash and rmhny eventually get their money.

spookyskeleton · 13/04/2015 08:07

Yep, surely any journalist worth their salt would listen to their story about how people on the internet are making their lives miserable and think 'oh I better check out what exactly is being said'.

I also think that selling their story would be an incredibly bad move as it just keeps it in the public eye rather than letting them fade back into obscurity but maybe the ££££ is just too tempting.

shewept · 13/04/2015 08:14

Even I would be surprised if the dm tried to swing this into a positive.

Having read bitsand pieces of this thread i would be.more worried that they do a daily mail sad face about being "trolled" by people demanding.they make a donation and making out that they are somehow "vicims" in all of this.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 13/04/2015 08:55

They only way they can successfully pull out the victim card is if they prove they've donated a substantial amount to RMHNY. There's no other way around it.

shewept · 13/04/2015 08:58

Not only that they have donated, but also why they refused refunds and abused, deleted, refused and blocked people asking for refunds. I am sure rmhny wouldn't condone that behaviour.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 13/04/2015 09:23

And why they've asked for funds for things they didn't need.

Blazing88 · 13/04/2015 14:23

How on earth is this still not on the main news??!

Shocking.

Just told my mum, she was appalled too!

fluffymouse · 13/04/2015 15:30

I'm awaiting hearing about this in the press.

Either their own story, or a summary of the fraud, surely the papers would love to cover this.

Meanwhile their silence on the Facebook group speaks volumes.

Suchafunnystory · 13/04/2015 16:47

Completely agree with you fluffy

CalleighDoodle · 13/04/2015 16:50

CalleighDoodle · 13/04/2015 16:51

That article is from February......................

FromMeToYou · 13/04/2015 17:20

Someone has just linked to that article on the facebook page. There isn't an up to date one that I can see.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 13/04/2015 17:25

I think it was posted to emphasise the fact that the article says the £12k was spent on "clothes, food, and other essentials" and people are querying if that means all the money is definitely gone, and why so much on such a short period of time. Also I noticed it says that "a charity" provided them with "cheap accommodation" but did they not stay at RMHNY for free?

JoanHickson · 13/04/2015 17:26

So in February they had already spent the lot. How many more baby clothes extra did they need? Accommodation was paid and experiences by RMH and insurance. So they went on a spenine spree on clothes for themselves?

JoanHickson · 13/04/2015 17:29

Article in the press should be.

Parents go on spending spree on clothes for themselves , thanks to pimping out a preterm via crowd funding?

Yes they did. There are screen shots too. They refused to update gofund me after uk press published the insurance was paying out. They knew internationally people were behind and still donating thinking medical fees were not being paid.
