To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

I presume morality = handing over £000s donation
Strategy = deflecting from donations by sob story about trolls IR similar

Maybe they will do a story re: all the hassle they got and then state the fee for the story has been donated

If this is the case I cannot understand why any newspaper would pay anyone to disclose how much they donated to a charity.... the money wasn't even theirs.

They generally have their story in the Daily Fail. The Daily Fail print anything especially if there's a sad face in the photo. I can see the headline now "Dax's Parents Targeted By Online Vipers". There will most likely be a holier than thou statement to accompany the sad picture saying they have donated but prefer not to disclose how much.

Funny how they'll discuss money when it's incoming - medical bills, high end Breast pumps, how much is raised etc.

Yet won't discuss what's going out.

This is public because they, or TD, made it so. I can't fathom that they gone public yet now scream troll at the public following them.

I bet the press go down the line of "targeted by trolls". I don't mean MN. I was being tongue in cheek with that comment.

I've been accepted on the Scam Of New York page. Thought I'd mention that as others had been wondering about being accepted.

Rose i think you might have misunderstood my comment. What i meant was if newspapers print an article about how hard done by this couple are then they are just as bad as this couple. No one should be supporting what they have done.

Cue tear-jerking press article about how hard these 'mumpfs' have been, how jealous 'trolls' have stressed them, how poorly Dax has been (he brought up his milk during the This Morning interview). Offers of 'booby-milk' protein cheesecake all round, press offers donation to RMH, general public (largely unaware of the revelations on this thread) are entranced with cute baby Dax and donate to the family or RMH. And so it goes on ... !

Media have probably been asking the same questions, hence the sudden rush to make the donation.

They probably thought that everyone will just disappear. But the media doesn't forget when you start with a deception in the first place.

Its going to be a story full of....'its been so hard, katie has been off work longer than planned we have no money' she would be off work now anyway and they obviously weren't bad off as they could afford first class tickets to new York 11 weeks before the baby was born.

I totally get wanting to make the most of your last few weeks, before you give birth...but no one spends that much on a break, with a baby on the way if they are living from wage to wage.

I am intrigued to see this article. I just can't see how they will justify any of this.

I may be being a bit naive here but if a paper was to run an article about them, surely a proper journalist would investigate the 'trolls' and what was being said and ask them some difficult questions?

It really is making me angry that they are possibly going to sell their story, use the fee to make a donation to look like they are keeping their side of the bargain and then still get to keep the money that was given to them Angry

That's my thought spooky . Even if the story states they donated 30k (the highest estimate of what they received) People will want to know how much they were paid for the story and where that money is.

If they donate say 10k people are going to ask where the rest of the money is and where is the interview fee.

There is still going to be huge discrepancies, if they are using this fee to cover the donation.

I just don't see how a newspaper can cover this and still try and paint them in a good light. I am surprised they would do this as its better for them ifbit goes away. Its not going to help them at all. Until a few days ago Lees fb page was public, nothing there suggested further fundraising and TD himself sited family problems as the reason. But I can't come up with anything that would excuse refusing to refund people, abusing these people and deleting negative comments. A quick post would have stopped all this.

They are only going to come across as manipulative people, whatever the story.

I mean that the DM might try and make them look better, with a sob story. But I can't see most people falling for it.
