To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

RMH does not charge solja not in the UK anyway - I've used their rooms and they are brilliant.

In 49 or now 48 postings this thread will be full. No one has commented on the fb page for 21 hours. I really think they got away with this scam. I just feel for dax as hes been used as a money making scam and hes just a little baby that needs support. Very sad as the charity has lost out in potentially £17 k!

The DM article seems to say that they paid something for the accommodation.

Even if they paid for accommodation the insurance paid out didn't it?

If they did have to pay $39 dollars a night to the RMH, that adds up to just over $1600 because they were only in the U.S. six weeks. It still doesn't explain where the other £15k went!

The Insurance company will have paid for the accommodation whilst in the US. Along with other 'out of pocket ' expenses. However, the nurse confirmed that 'they were never going to be out pocket'.
The Insurance angle was the only way to pull on peoples heartstrings, otherwise it was a baby born prematurely ...something that thousands of people deal with daily without asking for others to fund

When I made a holiday insurance claim a few years back I had to sign to say something along the lines of (I'm not boring enough to remember exact wording) that I was out of pocket and hadn't been reimbursed by any other party e.g. airline, hotel company etc.
I doubt the insurance company will want the bad publicity but perhaps they've breached this rule if donations covered it and they claimed after they knew the donations were in, although it would depend on the order of events I suppose.

The police will only start an investigation if lots of people who gave money complain. A police officer reported then ages ago too.

The donations won't be considered under the insurance claim. Insurers are interested in whether there is another policy (such as contents insurance for theft or loss) that they can split the claim with, or reimbursement from an airline or tour operator to prevent the claimant from profiting from a loss.
The private donations will be ignored by the insurer, despite L&K profiting hugely!

It's all very sad for RMDH. I donated to them thinking it was to help pay for their medical bills. I then read donations would be sent to RMDH (or I thought that's where they were going). I'm very disappointed in them.

As in that amount of money was never raised in the first place or that amount of money wasn't donated to RMDH?

Meggy, please report them to the police if they refuse a refund. You can use your refund to give to RMH, rather than greedy personalised cars on the drive people not in the need they presented themselves as being in.

Weebirdie i think that the money people think the donation site got until it was closed if you read back. Im sorry if i read it wrong. No idea what the charity got, if anything.
