To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

Thanks for that. I thought there had been more than was on that page.

trufflesnout · 09/04/2015 18:04

There's a general RMHC page with over 700k likes. Maybe link to that one instead of the NYC specific one?

Scambuster3 · 09/04/2015 18:11

Gofundme could have had a few people ask for money back via that route. Wink

ButchCassidy · 09/04/2015 18:22

There are comments on fb page that indicate that RM page has made an announcement to state that donation is imminent.. I can't see it on the web page though

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 09/04/2015 18:35

shewept · 09/04/2015 18:36

butch I really hope that is true.

Scambuster3 · 09/04/2015 18:39

Still waiting and the hints are beginning.

Any news of the long promised donation of public and personal money to you, from Dax's Tale of New York?

Ronald McDonald House Charities Hi Catherine, we understand that the money has been donated to Ronald McDonald House New York as that is where the family stayed when Dax was in hospital. Best to get in touch with the family if you have any questions as we are not in direct contact with them. Kind regards x

Hopefully all these posts to RMH will shame them into finally donating. I'm pretty sure they would have no intention of doing so otherwise.

LittleGreyCar · 09/04/2015 18:50

Thanks.

HouseBot · 09/04/2015 18:57

From the RMH UK page.

To me that says 'they said they sent it, but no confirmation its cleared'.

I honestly think they aren't as clever as they thought they were, I don't think they expected people to cause up if the donated the money. I think they thought 'lets say that and then everyone will eventually forget'.

I think they said RMH will confirm it as they have been backed into a corner. I honestly think they have spent alot of it (if not all) and trying to buy time to replace all or some of it.

The several thousand pounds that people sent to their PayPal is long gone, as is the £600 they raised locally.

Whilst I get that Skegness is a small town and not particularly a 'rich' area, I am still really shocked the local community did come together more for this 'well loved' couple from their area who were in such a difficult situation.

I can't help wonder if TD and the couple are as well loved in Skegness as they think they are.

wooldonor · 09/04/2015 19:02

What exactly is the source for the fact that any money has been paid over.

Is the poster Manuela Manuela one of us trying to force their hand?

I'm not convinced they've donated yet

HouseBot · 09/04/2015 19:03

Probably less so now - some people in Skegness will also feel ripped off, no doubt.

Maybe im being thick here but on Housebot's screen shot the rmdh rep says that they made the donation to the new York House where they stayed. Doesn't that mean they have donated? Can someone enlighten me?

SolidGoldBrass · 09/04/2015 20:18

Is this still going on? FFS, a bunch of dumb bucketheads got scammed. Oh dear how sad never mind. Next time, don't give money you can't afford to lose to 'heartrending' dubious pleas on Facebook.

shewept · 09/04/2015 20:24

I think rmh uk are trying to be diplomatic. They 'understand' there has been a donation. To me says 'we have heard there is a donation', which is what we have all heard.

They are directing people to rmh NY, because they don't want involving. I am going to go out ina limb and say RMH uk, know all about this and are keeping out of it.

shewept · 09/04/2015 20:28

Solid Ronald McDonald House UK are saying it went to Ronald McDonald House New York. That particular branch or 'house' as they refer to them.

trufflesnout · 09/04/2015 20:36

But SGB, some utter wankers have profited out of this naivety whilst a charity has gone without.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 09/04/2015 20:46

Is this thread really going to achieve anything with regard to forcing out a donation that clearly isn't going to happen if there is no money left?

Let it go and never ever donate to scammers again.
