Ok so earlier, my friend sent me a photo of this dress asking what colour it was, I replied 'white and gold, why?', she said it's blue and black.. I replied no of course it's not.. I shared it to facebook, and some people think it's blue and black and some people think it's white and gold.. and it has just changed! I refreshed the page to see the most recent comments and it changed colour!! Now I can only see blue and black.. AM I GOING MAD?!

That's the first time I have seen blue and black.

I'm so blown with this. I need to go to bed.

Writerwannabe83 · 27/02/2015 21:16

I've just looked again (already looked twice today) and it's changed colour again. Thid time when I look at the dress it's clearly blue and back, that's the third colour it's looked in the three times I have checked.

I'm soooooo confused!!!

Thumbwitch · 27/02/2015 22:10

Sorry Wicked - that doesn't work either. I saw it as clearly blue/black the first time I looked, then checked on the tablet and it was white and gold, and since then it's been all over the place.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/02/2015 22:19

It was always white until someone got me to look at a certain part of the photo. Then it changed to blu in front of me eyes and now mostly blue. Occasionally it starts off white and then changes to blue as I look at it.

Writerwannabe83 · 27/02/2015 22:32

If I squint really hard all the gold linings turn black.

Pipbin · 27/02/2015 23:08

I guarantee that the woman who photographed the dress will be the mystery person on Big Fat Quiz Off the Year.

Aridane · 28/02/2015 07:04

Hell - no matter how I look at the photo, inc the ones on the links, all I see is white and gold

Confirmed by the woman who first posted the picture. It's blue and black.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 28/02/2015 11:01

I see white and gold. I asked my daughter and she said white and gold. I told her to some people it's blue and black. She said 'well they're stupid'

Pipbin · 28/02/2015 12:30

But it is actually blue and black. She is wrong whether she likes it or not.

Tubbytimmy · 28/02/2015 12:41

I've asked my four dc this morning as there is a photo of the dress in the newspaper. Responses

Dd1 11 purple and brown
Ds1 9 black and blue
Ds2 7 black and blue
Dd2 6 light blue and gold

Me, I still see it as gold and white

Jux · 28/02/2015 13:43

I'm interested in a prediction made by the Conway chap in the Guardian article. He thinks nightowls are more likely to see it as blue and black.

So what do people on this thread think, and are they nightowls or not?

BattlingOnAgain · 28/02/2015 13:58

Read this by the "creator" of this dress. It was a scientific experiment. Apparently if things are going good in your life you could see gold and white, but if your suffering from upheaval and negative thoughts you would see black and blue.

Seems I'm negative apparently Hmm

BattlingOnAgain · 28/02/2015 14:05

Sorry for the poor photoSmile

Pipbin · 28/02/2015 14:35

It's interesting that it works in print still.
I wondered if having it on a computer or phone screen and therefore made of light rather than ink would make a difference.

ragged · 28/02/2015 16:08

DH finally cracked & put the image into gimp or something like that; the point is that the pixel values say reddish-gold & off-white.

I don't know why, given that the original dress really is blue & black!
