To ask how the eff this works?!?!?!

Ok so earlier, my friend sent me a photo of this dress asking what colour it was, I replied 'white and gold, why?', she said it's blue and black.. I replied no of course it's not.. I shared it to facebook, and some people think it's blue and black and some people think it's white and gold.. and it has just changed! I refreshed the page to see the most recent comments and it changed colour!! Now I can only see blue and black.. AM I GOING MAD?!

To ask how the eff this works?!?!?!

I've seen that same pic three times this morning and it's been different each time, first time was gold and white, second time light blue and charcoal and last time was dark blue and black.

I'm with Countess, I think you black-and-bluers are playing a huge joke on the rest of us.

Except... the checkerboard illusion was genuine and astonishing. I maintain this is why paint colours are so ridiculously hard to choose.

I can only see blue and black from all angles, no matter how hard i try to see white and gold!

I think she's wearing a different dress. A black and blue one, not the white and gold one shown in the pictures!

It's something to do with the lighting in the room you are in or what colour you have been looking at before you glance at the dress or something, it's definitely something to do with your eyes.

I just took this screen shot of the dress on the daily mail site, as I pressed the button to take the screenshot the dress looked white and gold to me, I use lightshot for screenshots so it will save as a link so while it did that I glanced away, when I looked back at that same picture it now looked blue and black.

I checked the screenshot and the dress is indeed blue and black still, it definitely looked white and gold to me when I pressed that prntscr button.

I saw white and gold last night, I then realised I had triple clicked the home button for reading my phone in the dark. I've seen blue and black ever since though Grin

It's to do with the sensitivity of your eyes to light. When I woke up this morning and saw it in semi-darkness it was white and gold. Now in daylight it is blue and black. My eyes are extremely sensitive to light as very pale blue. Also can't drive in the dark.

Well I've been outside in the sun, just come in and looked. It started as gold and white but as I looked it changed to blue and black!

Last night on my iPhone it looked blue and black. This morning on my laptop it looks white and gold. But I've just asked DS who's 5 and he said the exact same picture on my laptop is black and blue (I didn't give him any options, he doesn't know about the hoo haa about the dress, he just said what he saw). It's so goddam weird!

From every angle, on every device, in every light it is BLUE and BLACK!! And as every article on the sodding thing has said the dress IS in fact blue and black but some people just see it as white and gold then I am once again happy and satisfied that I am right!
