Ok so earlier, my friend sent me a photo of this dress asking what colour it was, I replied 'white and gold, why?', she said it's blue and black.. I replied no of course it's not.. I shared it to facebook, and some people think it's blue and black and some people think it's white and gold.. and it has just changed! I refreshed the page to see the most recent comments and it changed colour!! Now I can only see blue and black.. AM I GOING MAD?!

Black eyed Susan I think you've hit the nail on the head, it seems that when the light is on it's white, when it's off it's blue and black.. YAY IM SANE AGAIN maybe

White and gold.
If I tilt the laptop I get...white and gold.
If I squint I get...white and gold.

chlo95 · 27/02/2015 00:39

Ok so if you're on an iPhone, turn the brightness down and watch it change to gold and white!!

White and gold but if I sort of stare blue and black

MaudeLebowski · 27/02/2015 00:45

It's gone viral all over the internet tonight cosie.

This and the escaped llamas.

FamiliesShareGerms · 27/02/2015 00:49

But I'm not green / red colour blind (and neither are most women), even if my phone is showing this as blue / black

SouthernComforts · 27/02/2015 00:53

Gold and white from all angles here too! Which is the 'right' answer?

Redglitter · 27/02/2015 00:54

Definitely white & gold

cozietoesie · 27/02/2015 00:56

Ah Yes - llama extremism. There are some disturbing questions posed there. Grin

SilenceInTheLibrary · 27/02/2015 01:02

It's blue and black for me. No mistake.

Tokelau · 27/02/2015 01:04

It's blue and black for me, I can't see white and gold at all. My DF is red/green colourblind, but I didn't think that I was. Confused

AmateurSeamstress · 27/02/2015 01:07

Gold and white from all angles, at all brightnesses.

No wonder it's so hard to choose paint colours if I can't tell black from gold!

TellingTheBees · 27/02/2015 01:11

It is black and blue at all angles and at all brightness levels.

Tokelau · 27/02/2015 01:20

Just showed the picture to DH and he thinks it's white and gold! This makes no sense.

Eminybob · 27/02/2015 01:57

White and gold here too (just had to move off the app to the mobile site to see the picture as this has me intrigued).

I can see how the white may look bluish as it is in shadow but there is no way that the gold can look black! I don't get what the blue and black supporters are seeing at all!

MrsCakesPrecognition · 27/02/2015 01:59

Ooooh - spooky.
1.5 hours after my original post (white and gold all the way), the dress now looks blue and black.
I wonder if it will turn back again.

Jux · 27/02/2015 02:07

Blue and black definitely, from all angles. When I was reading your op and got to your saying white and gold I thought you must be mad! I want to see white and gold, not fair!

NaughtyRed82 · 27/02/2015 02:07

White and gold for me, can't see no blue and black......Hmm

Every bit of clothing ought to make you pretty
You can cut the clothing, gray is such a pity

Lots of Ian Dury lyrics in fact - but this is my favourite short quote.

I'm stirred and no longer free

Always makes me smile.

Bugger - wrong thread. Apologies.

Jux · 27/02/2015 02:18

I've looked at that link to Twitter with the explanation. I've been tested for colour blindness and I'm not; so how come I see black and blue?

nocoolnamesleft · 27/02/2015 02:31

Not down to colourblindness...on my laptop screen it's black and blue. On my tablet it's white and gold. Switching screens wouldn't cure colourblindness. I think the brightness of the screen altering perception sounds vaguely plausible.

MrsCakesPrecognition · 27/02/2015 02:46

And it's back to white and gold.

MonkeySeeMonkeyDooo · 27/02/2015 03:16

It's blue and black from whichever way I look at it! Even if I change the brightness on my phone. Still blue and black.
