im ill. ive been ill for the last 3 days and have an appt in out of hours in an hour.
Im a lone parent, house is a mess, no food in, cant hardly make it off the sofa.

DD was meant to be having a friend over tonight nad we were looking after her tomorrow. I called the mum and said yesterday that i might have to cancel, and this morning i have cancelled. She hasnt replied to my text at all.

But instead posted on fb about how shes childfree tonight and whats shes doing.

I've had laryngitis several times, the only way you're going to get better is to do nothing and to talk as little as possible. Especially try not to strain your vocal cords, really hard I know. Try some toast if you can, I find it helps scrape the yucky stuff off. Gross I know!

Agree with PP, not only should she not have expected you to still look after child but she should have been offering to take your DD or include her in whatever alternative babysitting plans she got in the end! Or pop into health store and pick you up some echinacea an such? I'd also reccomend sambucol (black elderberry) for the flu, and sage tea to gargle or drink is great for improving horrid throat things
