help for strikethrough please

just to say, mumsnet has been an amazing help for me for so long, and through the many dilemmas of my life.

just wondering if someone who has the time or inclination can help.

I have been trying to do the "strikethrough" on my messages for ages.
I have looked online, but still can't grasp the best way to achieve it.

can anyone help?

Two dashes, text, two dashes...

two of those then text (without spaces) and end it with another two (again without spaces)

Or click on the I (italics) symbol at the bottom, choose strike through and write in between the dashes that way?

Can italics and bold be combined? Is there a practice thread, or shall we make this one it?
