Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

It is well worth the money for burberry - look at how many newspapers they have been mentioned in because he is in their advert.

LuckyLopez · 12/11/2014 18:28

Would you turn it down if it were offered to you?

PureMorning · 12/11/2014 18:29

He can't win. If he never works he will be called out for sponging off his parents and if he works hes called greedy.

cathyandclaire · 12/11/2014 18:29

Seeing the pictures I think he's worth every penny :)

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 18:33

At 12 year old you don't sponge off your parents though do you.

Good for him!
I haven't got a problem with it at all.

Bowlersarm · 12/11/2014 18:35

Agree PureMorning, none of the Beckhams can do right for doing wrong, it seems. I assume that's the going rate for a top fashion house, therefore perfectly correct that he's paid that amount.

DeadCert · 12/11/2014 18:37

That's the way of the world.

Plus, you don't know what they're going to do with it. They might give it all to charity. He's done a job and been paid for it...so what? Jade Jagger, Stella McCartney, The Geldof Girls, Kimberley Stewart...all probably originally got work off their parents name but must be talented in their own right to some degree.

If this pissed you I'm sure you'll be delighted to hear Brooklyn has apparently signed for Arsenal.

ourbabybeau · 12/11/2014 18:38

They work- and they get their money. Sure their is argument about whether or not they should be paid what they are paid but what I see of VB in the media is that she is a hardworking woman with her own business- not to mention she seems to be an excellent mother. And there is no doubting (back in his day) that David was an excellent football player.

The more money you have the more connections you have. Are you seriously telling me if you knew say the CEO of a major fashion brand and they offered your child a modelling contract you would say no? I would question your sanity if you did.

Leave them alone. Jealously is a nasty business.

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 18:40

Bowlersarm apparently Burberrys other models are outraged because they earn nowhere near that amount.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/11/2014 18:42

How far will this family go for publicity and money

Well I don't think David or Victoria forced him into it against his will, he looks happy in the ad, has model good looks so why not do it if Burberry offered him the job and from photos he seems a happy lad.

I agree that whatever the Beckhams do will rile some people.

I like them, her in particular.

LuckyLopez · 12/11/2014 18:42

Burberry's other models probably don't attract as much revenue as RB will either.

Bowlersarm · 12/11/2014 18:42

But then OP, you can see the attention he will draw to the brand because he is Romeo Beckham. His name linked with them will be more of a moneymaker for Burberry than any of the other models. Maybe that's the going rate for a celebrity model.

nachohousekeeper · 12/11/2014 18:43

It's not about how much money they need, it's about him working, earning money and probably doing something he enjoys.

He's not the first celebrity child to go
into a business like that and he won't be the last.

Would you rather he was plastered over the papers being drunk or thumping photographers? (I know it's unlikely at 12 but you get my meaning?)

dexter73 · 12/11/2014 18:43

I imagine he is worth every penny of his fee to Burberry because of who he is.

BlueberryWafer · 12/11/2014 18:44

Good for him! You're not telling me if you were offered 45 grand for modelling you would turn it down!

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 18:44

Ourbaby...... please do not accuse me of jealousy. All I have is a sense of fair play. There are lots of reasons why I'm not impressed by the Beckhams. Why should it be because of jealousy. As for Victoria "working hard".....Grin

What else is it then? Really. Why not mind your own business?

Are you seriously telling me if you won the lottery you would divide it all equally between different charities and keep a bit behind for yourself? I doubt it. Sure I would donate SOME money (as I do now with a generous income..) but would I keep 90% of it for myself and my family? Of course I would.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 12/11/2014 18:48

Before I get outraged I would rather know what other child models get paid although as someone said look at coverage.

Bowlersarm · 12/11/2014 18:48

As for Victoria "working hard".....

There you go OP, pure jealously on your behalf.

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 18:49

Victoria Beckham clearly works extremely hard. She has built up a multimillion pound fashion label from nothing.

The Beckham's deserve every penny they get, IMO.

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 18:49

I do know how to apostrophise. My autocorrect? Not so much. :(
