Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

ridiculous, but this family seem to be a one off

very cute little boy with very famous parents

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 18:50

Well! that's his tuition fee covered.

If it was your kid, I bet you wouldn't say no.

VivaLeBeaver · 12/11/2014 18:51

Burberrys other models don't get paid that much because they're not as famous. None of the other models would have ensured that some of the photos have been in the national press, etc.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/11/2014 18:52

As for Victoria "working hard".....Grin

How d'you know she doesn't work hard in the field she is in?

I have been annoyed in the past by the way she has become a 'designer' without even accessing fashion college or attaining any kind of qualification relating to the trade but being hugely wealthy beforehand and having a PR management like Simon Fuller pulling the strings made sure she could fulfill those ambitions, I'd have had a go but I lack her drive and iron will.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 18:53

If you criticize the Beckhams you always get accused of jealousy. It's the MN rule.

I am wondering now if my DS (12) should be wearing Burberry.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 18:53

But now those models have been in the press because Romeo's appearance has been covered, so they can up their fee in future too. Win, win.

MyFirstName · 12/11/2014 18:53

So if Victoria Beckham does not work hard how has she achieved what she has? www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29784298

Jeez, I wish I could create a multi-million pound business from sitting around just doing nothing....

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 18:54

Sorry they don't impress me one bit, and why is it jealousy because I say she doesn't work hard. She doesn't, not what I call hard work anyway.

Ooh get you, not being impressed by them. I'm sure they give a stuff, OP.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 18:55

TBh an even the appearance of Romeo, and he's a natural, wouldn't make me wear Burberry. The photos of Damiella Westbrook and her baby made certain this brand is dead to me.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 18:56

It's a no from DS2. Sorry Burberry. Sad

I'd love a Burberry Mac!

this one

Nanny0gg · 12/11/2014 18:57

Was it for one day's work or was it for the campaign that he's featured in at present?

I don't really care though. They've made their money through talent and/or hard work and they seem to have, as far as you can judge from the press, done a pretty good job of bringing up their children.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 18:58

Lovely. V understated.

Define hard work though Polly.

OP you have no idea what creating and running a multi million pound business takes, do you. You might not call it hard work but in reality, your problem is you are unable to comprehend just how hard it is. Plenty of celebs embark on vanity business projects which fold. Few manage to make the success of them that VB has.

Nanny0gg · 12/11/2014 18:59

No, she's not working a busy ward or sitting on a checkout till. But she's providing work for a lot of people so she's doing a good job in my book.

Lambstales · 12/11/2014 19:00

If that's the going rate for a Burberry model with his potential impact, that is what he should be paid.
What was Emma Watson paid? or Cara, or Eddie?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/11/2014 19:00

What exactly is wrong with him earning some money? He has the model looks. He has a celebrity name attached. He is worth the 45k.

Good on him for earning some cash.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 19:00

My eyes! Curse you Sparkling.

You need to have a strong word with DS. Tell him 45 grand is a lot of X Box, you'll still have change for college Grin

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 19:01

She's achieved itmyfirstname purely and simply because of the name Beckham. If you think she could have done that if she was a skint fashion designer you must be very naive. I can't take anyone serious who thinks otherwise.

I am not sure about the model looks. He's a child, a twelve year old boy. I am not sure he is any more 'model material' than any other child TBH.

I am sure he wears Burberry all the time. Grin

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 19:03

Her name was probably as much of a drawback as an asset when she was starting out. She has also had to contend with the (knowledge free) opinions of idiots.
