Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

Romeo Beckham's modelling career doesn't bother me.

But if anyone seriously thinks Vicky B designs her own clothes ....

ssd · 12/11/2014 19:05

yeah sb tell him 45k buys a lot of microsoft points Grin

my ds would jump at it and if he didnt he'd get pushed anyway

Thebodynowchillingsothere · 12/11/2014 19:05

They both came from nothing. Unlike Stella Mc Cartney etc.

I think they are great and good on them.

Grapes sour op?

ssd · 12/11/2014 19:06

ourbabybeau, calm down Shock

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 19:07

I expect she designs them as much as any of the other brand name designers does - she runs an atelier. She will have hired all the help, selected them based on what she wanted to achieve etc. And she does all the business side. That's incredibly hard work. she also fronts the brand - again, hard work. As I said, many many celebs have attempted to launch vanity businesses and vanity fashion lines. Few if any have succeeded as she has.

ourbabybeau · 12/11/2014 19:07

I probably need to ssd- but I hate jealously and people who try to cover up their jealously with something else because they can't face up to it.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/11/2014 19:08

I do think he has lovely features that make him stand out.

ourbaby that's harsh and uncalled for!

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 19:08

For everyone that likes her, I'm sure there are as many that don't. My own husband can't stand David because he played for Man Utd. So her name is as much of an asset as a disadvantage.

But she's hitched her wagon to Simon Fuller (v shrewd) and taken a path that makes her a fortune, and gets her comprehensively slated by people that dislike what she is.

I say her, of course, although I'm certain DB had just as much say in whether Romeo should do a few days work. We seem to cane him less though.

Thebodynowchillingsothere · 12/11/2014 19:08

He looks just like his mum doesn't he. Very sweet.

Danielle bless just looks a tad ridiculous.

Nancy66 · 12/11/2014 19:09

Other designers are at least trained in design, pattern cutting etc.

Bowlersarm · 12/11/2014 19:09

Ourbaby, don't let it trouble you. The Beckhams always get a load of flack. Who are the winners though - an über cool, rich, good looking, talented, popular family? - or those that try and belittle them?

velourvoyageur · 12/11/2014 19:09

So I'm assuming you'd turn down the job offer on principle then OP, in Romeo's position?

FreudiansSlipper · 12/11/2014 19:10

Of course it is obscene a child earning that sort of money for one days [work] how can anyone justify that many adults do not earn that in a year

Who agrees with footballers being paid that much a week with all the training they do not many regardless how they behave off the pitch

It's a brand their children are part of that brand which really should be the choice of the children when they had grown up but it's a choice they have made. I am sure they do work hard they also have their pr team working very hard for them VB tried a few different careers before breaking into fashion which has upset many designers who have trained and worked hard for years but being a product already it worked and having Simon Fuller behind you seems to do wonders for many

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 19:10

£45k of PSN vouchers and Ultimate Team coins. Shock I will send a pic to Burberry right away. Grin

Mintyy · 12/11/2014 19:10

Agree with you op. Surely they've got enough money now?

morethanpotatoprints · 12/11/2014 19:10

I'm not sure they came from nothing.
They are from mc families where parents supported etc.
That's certainly not coming from nothing.

Personally I don't think vb is a good designer and find her clothes very boring, certainly wouldn't buy any.

The whole family are products, I pity them tbh.
Maybe that sounds weird to pity people with so much money, but each to their own.

I don't know why people would envy them their lifestyle, they must miss freedom and the kids must really want a normal childhood.

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 19:10

Nancy the thing is given the nature of fashion, it's surprising that VB's design team don't leak stories telling that she's contributed the square root of fuck all.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 19:12

Well at least VB always looks happy and smiley. Smile

Mintyy · 12/11/2014 19:12

ourbabybeau - but this thread isn't about you and your husband. Stop being so ridiculously melodramatic. It's impossible to take any point you may have seriously.

DeadCert · 12/11/2014 19:13

Oooook....Ourbaby you may need to reign it in a tad.

Confused
RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 19:13

Freudian People should be paid what their work is worth. If RB's work as a model is worth £45k to Burberry then he should be paid that.

Nancy66 · 12/11/2014 19:13

TSSDNCOP it was pretty well accepted in the industry that Roland Mouret designed her early collections.

DeadCert · 12/11/2014 19:14

Ourbaby that post about you and your husband is utterly ridiculous.

ourbabybeau · 12/11/2014 19:15

StillSaying- and (whether they are used to it or not) BULLYING people while they aren't here/able to defend them is? I stand up to bullies.

I also note how OP hasn't responded to "would you turn down 45k" Grin
