To be a bit miffed that people coo over my Pug puppy more than they do my newborn DD

Seriously I must have been stopped about 20 times today with people wanting to touch and cuddle Daisy Mae my puppy, I don't mind as I am socialising her , but my beautiful new born gets either totally ignored or people give a quick glance into the pram look at me as if to say oh is a baby then give puppy their full attention.

Oh well at least no-one has said Daisy Mae has my eyes or nose

Your baby must be really ugly if a pug is cuter.

I think sometimes people feel uncomfortable commenting on someone else's child, even positively.

I'd lavish attention on both and you'd want me to piss off

Haha I have the same problem with my baby and my beagle. People always stop us on the street to tell me how cute my beagle is, less so the baby!

My mum has a vintage silver cross pram, and when she's out with it people stop to coo over the pram and ignore my incredibly adorable children

if you pet a puppy they get all happy and licky
no one dares touch a new baby in case it starts screaming at you

puppies are far more rewarding
and almost never shriek or vomit on total strangers

People get to stroke and play with the puppy, it's unlikely that you're about to get your baby out of the pram and pass her round to strangers.

Plus, other people's puppies are cuter than other people's babies.
