To be a bit miffed that people coo over my Pug puppy more than they do my newborn DD

Seriously I must have been stopped about 20 times today with people wanting to touch and cuddle Daisy Mae my puppy, I don't mind as I am socialising her , but my beautiful new born gets either totally ignored or people give a quick glance into the pram look at me as if to say oh is a baby then give puppy their full attention.

Oh well at least no-one has said Daisy Mae has my eyes or nose

I always coo over puppies.
Babies - not so much.

i'm always a play with the pet woman, not a hold the baby woman. i don't find babies particularly cute or interesting. i avoid holding babies as much as possible.

Sorry while babies are gorgeous. I'm trying for one myself! but I'm afraid cuteness wise a puppy well any baby animal every time in my book.
I bet your d.d is gorgeous though.
I think also trying to to get to serious here but to some people women can get jealous when they see a new born baby so people can be hostile where as you're hardly going to get jealous of a dog with puppies.
I wonder if it works like with dogs. Do they get jealous of other dogs having pups but find human babies irresistably cute.

I'd rush at speed to cuddle a baby kitten! A baby human. Can take them or leave them. Love my own but others are a polite oh she\he are gorgeous for mums sake.
I prefer older kids that can talk and interact.

I'm sure your dd is lovely but others may not be bothered.

Babies look much of a muchness.
I've never seen an ugly puppy or kitten but I've definitely experienced the Seinfeld episode of struggling to find something nice to say (he's got a lovely smile?) about a baby.

I'm sure yours is lovely but I'm afraid the reality unless one has a personal investment in a baby they're not that interesting.

Pugs are pure cruelty aren't they? I always feel pity for them when I see them poor little buggers.

Anyway I prefer babies to dogs anyroad.

It's because puppies are WAY cuter and more animated than tiny babies and far more rewarding. Plus, it's socially acceptable to lavish attention on a puppy but not so a tiny baby...people might think you're a loony kidnapper if you try to cuddle a stranger's newborn .

But a puppy sniffs and wags its tail and wants to talk to people babies just sleep and dont wag their tails

Newborns are cute only to their parents- I can admit to adoring my own two but realising they were rashy, red, milk spotted little old men look a likes. Beautiful to me and my DH of course. Puppies are cute, cuddly, fluffy and adorable.

Puppies are way cuter than babies, they have soft snuggly fur and cutesy wutesy paws.

Also babies are people, it is a bit weird for strangers to cuddle random people. But puppies are fine.

I don't even like dogs as a rule, but can't help going a bit funny over puppy ears.

Babies... Well, I have to like the parents to be interested. Random babies are just a bit odd-looking.

I'm in the puppies camp, sorry. Not a maternal bone in my body, something which amuses my two adult kids massively. It's like someone turned off the 'i like children'switch when they grew up.

Put the pug in the pram in a bonnet, that would be so much cute.

Babies don't do anything, puppies are all excited to see you and interactive.

I mean you might have the most beautiful newborn ever (and I'm sure you do) but they're not going to play with me when I say hello.
