Pregnant and going through that horrible off food stage, but occasionally someone talks about something or I see it on tv and it has my mouth watering and appetite suddenly raging. I'm hoping for a few of these-preferably things that are v quick to grab/make as otherwise I could lose my appetite half way through cooking!
Tell me your best and yummiest quick treats (sweet and savoury)please!!

Oh and fresh bread with real butter.
Sometimes with blue cheese. Or pate.

Iwantmyparcel · 23/10/2014 18:20

Oh yes and peanut butter and jam.
And Nutella from the tub with a spoon.
And and unbanked apple crumble..crumble.

MissMrsMummy · 23/10/2014 18:57

Don't people eat some interesting combinations... I wonder how they come to discover them?!

Boysclothes · 23/10/2014 18:59

Licorice all sorts. I forget how much I love them until I eat one, then I eat the entire box.

Honeezreturn · 23/10/2014 19:05

Mallow 'fluff' in a jar
I eat it by the spoonful Blush its the same stuff as the middle of a tunnocks tea cake

Mumelie · 23/10/2014 19:09

OMG too many to count!

Mac cheese smothered in ketchup
Jaffa cakes - can binge eat several boxes at once
Chip butty with fake cheese slices
Nutella straight out the jar too

I normally eat really healthy but once in a while.................

kayleypurrett · 23/10/2014 19:15

chips with gravy then doused in vinegar! followed swiftly with a trifle was my thing during my pregnancy with my son

super cold gherkins from the fridge are my non prego go to snack

fredfredsausagehead1 · 23/10/2014 19:16

iced topped mince pies

NoMilkNoSugar · 23/10/2014 19:17

Chicken and mushroom pot noodle sandwiches.

Lucymill · 23/10/2014 19:18

Fadingfast, we used to call those cheese eggy bread sandwiches "why don't you sandwiches" because they showed you how to make them on that kids TV show Why Don't you... back in the day. Loved them!
Also love cheese on toast with lea and perrins sprinkled on top and eating condensed milk with a spoon that's been boiled in the tin so it goes like caramel. So good!Smile

fadingfast · 23/10/2014 19:26

Yes Lucymill! That's exactly where I first saw them!

UptobedNOW · 23/10/2014 19:30

For lunch on just about every day of the first 12 weeks of both pregnancies, I had Tesco macaroni cheese (microwaved for speed and general gloopiness) followed by cake (any kind of sponge but preferably chocolate) with double cream poured all over. Was the best of times and the worst of times but pure caloric goodness Grin

Lucymill · 23/10/2014 19:34

Lol Fading I'm so glad someone else remembers this!

Rainbunny · 23/10/2014 20:03

Granary rolls with black forest ham, mayonnaise and cucumber slices. If I'm hungry, it's always the first thing I crave.

shockedballoon · 23/10/2014 20:40

Sausage and egg butty from the sandwich van that comes round at work. The sausages are cheap and nasty, but it tastes sooooo goooood - probably only because I'm at work tho. If I ate it anywhere but in the office it'd probably taste pretty naff.

Also white toast made from warburton's toastie bread with lashing of proper salted butter.

Linguine or spaghetti with posh fruity olive oil, grated Parmesan and salt & pepper.

Teawithatwix · 23/10/2014 20:42

Dough balls with Nutella, banana and Nutella on toast, onion rings and garlic mayo, apple celery an walnuts covered in Heinz salad cream lushness !

FrancesNiadova · 23/10/2014 20:42

When I was pregnant, my craving was Heinz Tomato Soup. DH gets all worried if I so much as look at it now Grin

Shockers · 23/10/2014 21:01

Burford brown eggs (preferably 3), boiled for just 7 minutes, then cooled in cold water for about 3.

Peel them, cut in half, then squeeze a liberal amount of Hellman's mayo on top. Finish with a thorough dusting of cayenne pepper.

There's nowt better on the planet Grin.

TinyMonkey · 23/10/2014 21:17

Primula squeeze cheese with prawns on crackers. Failing that, Laughing Cow triangles will do.

Liquoricelips · 23/10/2014 21:40

Banana and tomato sandwiches - divine

Hakluyt · 23/10/2014 21:52

Pasta, butter, tomato ketchup, cheese and lots of freshly ground black pepper.

The ultimate comfort food. Both my children have inherited it.

confuddledDOTcom · 23/10/2014 22:00

Marzipan and Nutella. Amazing in pancakes and also like to stick marzipan on sticks and dip it in the jar...

I am NOT pregnant!

NeverNic · 23/10/2014 23:11

Crab sticks smothered in malt vinegar
Cold nutella scraped out of the jar like instant truffles

Apart from that I don't really get many weird cravings when I'm pregnant :( I just drink apple juice by the gallon load

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 23/10/2014 23:21

Mince pies. All year. Like in June.

mushy peas mashed with avocado & spread on rye bread or crackers.

beef ridged kettle chips.

mountains of mashed potato with butter and preferably garlic.

French toast with HP sauce and salt.

Gosh that's a lot of carbs Blush

cerealqueen · 23/10/2014 23:37

Cheese on toast, Macaroni cheese, cheese on jacobs cream crackers, KFC, fresh baked bread with real butter, Ferrero Rocher, red wine, assam tea, rice pudding, 70's style school chocolate pudding with sauce, Chicken satay with egg noodles, salty boiled egg with soldiers.

Not all quick but yummy.
