Pregnant and going through that horrible off food stage, but occasionally someone talks about something or I see it on tv and it has my mouth watering and appetite suddenly raging. I'm hoping for a few of these-preferably things that are v quick to grab/make as otherwise I could lose my appetite half way through cooking!
Tell me your best and yummiest quick treats (sweet and savoury)please!!

Oooh, I craved mushy pea crackers when I was having DD. Cheap mushy peas, heated up, spread on buttered cream crackers and add salt. I also loved buttered crumpets topped with houmous.

VoyagerII · 23/10/2014 15:47

Provamel chocolate soya dessert (I'm not vegan or anything, just love it) with cream on top mmmm.

Recently discovered pop chips, which are some kind of supposedly healthier crisp but v delicious especially the chilli one.

My ultimate pregnancy munchies snack was a thick slice of fresh white bread with real butter and then peanut butter on top of that. I rarely have it now as i don't get that hungry, but it's great for those pregnant "FEEEEED ME!" moments.

bakingaddict · 23/10/2014 15:57

I've been off on sick leave recently and I have had a craze for Pot Noodles but my ultimate dirty treat is hot dog sausages in buns with loads of fried onions, mustard, tomato sauce and coleslaw.

silversixpence · 23/10/2014 16:26

also pregnant and my ultimate meal at the moment is chips with caramelised onions and cheese with sauce (thousand island, mayo, ketchup and chopped chillies). It is divine.

livingzuid · 23/10/2014 16:31

DH makes from scratch amazing melt in the middle hot chocolate puddings with a really excellent vanilla ice cream.

I went off one of my favourite things which is carrots and humous when pregnant. Making up for it now though!

puntasticusername · 23/10/2014 16:36

A sandwich made with tinned hotdogs, on plastic white bread, with mayonnaise.

You have to exercise a certain amount of mental prowess in order to block out the fact that you're eating lips and bumholes, but it's worth it.

Idontseeanysontarans · 23/10/2014 16:38

I love tinned hotdogs. With brown sauce. Grin

KateMoose · 23/10/2014 16:48

I have a smoothie recipe which is lush and tastes totally trashy but happens to be dead healthy:

1 handful porridge oats
1 heaped tablespoon of good, smooth peanut butter (meridien is a good nonpalm oil brand)
2 medjool dates
4-5 ice cubes
1 cup of almond or coconut milk
1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Whizz up- slurp. Yum.

Almond butter spread on dark chocolate yum yum yum
Heinz tomato soup with thickly buttered white bread or Nairn's oatcakes.
A wedge of brie, black grapes and crackers- ryvita are good. Eat all.

Smilesandpiles · 23/10/2014 16:53
