I've just watched the episode of Sex and The City where she was shouting at Charlotte to give her the money to buy her apartment because she was broke as she'd spent 40k on shoes! Shock

She isn't too nice really, is she?!

Yanbu. She's so self-obsessed!

Onedropoflove · 16/10/2014 21:55

Oh, this comes up every few months! She was my least likeable. Even SJP didn't like her yet she seems just like her. Miranda was my fav.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/10/2014 21:56

She was horrible, totally self obsessed.

EnchanciaAnthem · 16/10/2014 21:57

Oh, does it? Sorry! Blush

But yes, Miranda is my favourite too. When I was a teenager I loved Carrie..rewatching it I cringe constantly at her ridiculous behaviour.

I didn't like any of them to be honest. Tedious people.

redexpat · 16/10/2014 21:58

And she blows Miranda off to have dinner with Big. I like Miranda too.

PiperIsOrange · 16/10/2014 21:59

I'm surprised that she has any friends, as any problem they have relationship wise she then goes and writes about it.

Onedropoflove · 16/10/2014 21:59

Oh, don't feel bad. I love a SATC thread. Especially now I am older than they were supposed to be.

EnchanciaAnthem · 16/10/2014 22:01

I hate in the film how they all imply it's Miranda's fault that Steve cheated on her because she didn't wax! And how Carrie falls out with Miranda for a throwaway line to Big - when Miranda is going through a family breakup! And then she gets Big..and cheats with Aidan?! Arghh.

proseccofiend · 16/10/2014 22:01

Her 'later on, I got to thinking' line in every episode made me want to throw things at the TV. She was a twat! I still watched every episode though. In my defence I was living abroad at the time and it was literally the only English - language show on.

girliefriend · 16/10/2014 22:01

She is pretty rubbish but none of us are perfect she did come through in the film when Miranda rang her on new years eve and she got out of bed to go to her....

glenthebattleostrich · 16/10/2014 22:02

I really didn't like Carrie, she just seemed so needy. Didn't matter what was going on in anyone else's life, she'd make everything about her.

As an aside, there are rumours of a third film.

EnchanciaAnthem · 16/10/2014 22:03

Oh yes I've heard that Glen! I say all of this but I'd be first in line to watch it. Grin

Onedropoflove · 16/10/2014 22:10

Do twentysomethings even watch it these days?

PiperIsOrange · 16/10/2014 22:11

I'm 28 and still watch it when I'm bored

EnchanciaAnthem · 16/10/2014 22:12

I'm only 25! Grin

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 16/10/2014 22:13

Yeah but she's supposed to be imperfect...like "real women" are.

Trills · 16/10/2014 22:26

She was a PITA.

I support the rights of fictional women to be just as flawed and complicated and unlikeable as fictional men. (Game of Thrones is good in this area, despite various sexist things in the world)

But sadly she wasn't that complicated either.

Bluetone · 16/10/2014 22:26

I still can't get over the fact she cheated on Aidan. Silly cow.

KingJoffreysBloodshotEye · 16/10/2014 22:32

Her 'later on, I got to thinking' line in every episode made me want to throw things at the TV.

She was pretty thick though.

Her few moments of actually using her brain were probably quite exciting and seemed worth mentioning.

WerkSupp · 16/10/2014 22:35

They were all lame.

Justwhateverreally · 16/10/2014 22:37

It's a what not to do manual, isn't it? Please tell me that everyone else got the joke?

Trills · 16/10/2014 22:40

I know that Bridget Jones was a deliberate parody... Not sure about SATC.

IrenetheQuaint · 16/10/2014 22:41

God she was SO crap with money. It was really annoying. And totally flakey and self-obsessed.

I always remember the episode where Miranda was having a nightmare with the new baby and Carrie spent the whole time yakking on about some random guy and dissecting their date in agonising detail. Really summed her up.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 16/10/2014 22:41

Bluetone but Aidan was a whining eejit. He was SO insecure! And he asked her to "Rub my belly" when he'd eaten a bucket of chicken.

I'd have rubbed it right out of bed!
