to think that Carrie Bradshaw was a terrible friend?!

I've just watched the episode of Sex and The City where she was shouting at Charlotte to give her the money to buy her apartment because she was broke as she'd spent 40k on shoes! Shock

She isn't too nice really, is she?!

I love SATC but yes, Carrie is a dick. I hate both movies though, they're so flashy and everyone is like a caricature of their TV show selves, it doesn't work for me.

cherrybombxo · 17/10/2014 00:00

Red it's Jerrod Smile

And yes, he's gorgeous and lovely!

PenelopeGarciasCrazyHair · 17/10/2014 00:01

In Samantha's defence she didn't want to say anything about her cancer to Miranda, but Miranda badgered her until she told her!

I've seen them all so many times but I still love watching satc. They all had their issues, but that's what made it compelling, so many fuck ups, whatever Carrie had, she was never satisfied.

I loved Aiden, but how many times do we read on here about people in relationships with a really nice dependable guy, but wondering where's the passion and the drama? Not satisfied that their lovely dp isn't as exciting as their abusive ex.

Personally I'd love to be snuggled up rubbing Aiden's belly and eating chicken with him instead of out partying, but that's why one man's trash is another man's treasure!

Big was a colossal wanker most of the time.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 17/10/2014 00:10

Meh...she could have said she had the clap or something.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 17/10/2014 00:15

Hang on! Carrie did abandon her last ever date with Big to go to hospital when Miranda went into labour. One redeeming moment.

And Aiden was a controlling bastard. Couldn't stand him.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 17/10/2014 00:16

Smith is great. Just caught the end of the episode the other night where Samantha leaves him at the party to have sex with Richard and when she comes down Smith is waiting for her to make sure she's okay. Aw.

Plateofcrumbs · 17/10/2014 02:03

I'd fight Penelope to rub Aiden's chicken belly.

Berger, I'd forgive him the post- it note thing because it's Carrie and she's profoundly annoying. It

And yes I'd forgotten Harry, he was the best.

kiwimumof2boys · 17/10/2014 02:13

I hate the 'shoes' episode where she leaves her shoes at a friend who has kids house and they get stolen, and the friend is really patronising telling her off for spending too much on shoes and then later she couldn't control her kids . . . I thought it made mothers look bad. Well maybe not 'bad' but not in a good light (if you can understand what I mean).

MrsMarcJacobs · 17/10/2014 02:55

Well, I liked the guys - Blair underwood (dr Robert) I've had a crush on since he was in LA Law and michael Baryshnikov is hot.

MrsMarcJacobs · 17/10/2014 02:57

I hated the way in the movies she was so materialistic and was furious that big got her the telly instead of 'something that sparkles'. And he gave her a diamond when she kissed Aiden - really? probably would have given her a tiara if they had slept together.

TurquoiseDress · 17/10/2014 02:59

Oooooh yes I loved Harry!

Was was very funny & intelligent...yes not a typical hottie but he loved Charlotte.

Looking back I think I identified most with Miranda- or maybe more so now I am in my 30s

There was something about Charlotte that appealed...her optimism and romantic nature.

Yes Carrie was indeed all about the drama and she was a pretty shit friend at times.

Have to admit I loved looking at her outfits, she managed to pull off most of them!

differentnameforthis · 17/10/2014 03:16

No, the post it wasn't the same time as the cancer "reveal" at the wedding. (Have just watched this episode)

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties She didn't "announce" it at the wedding, she told Carrie in the car, let slip (in the loosest sense) to Charlotte & Miranda pressed the issue (of what they were discussing), making Samantha tell all.

giraffescantboogie · 17/10/2014 04:02

I never liked sex in the city at all, never got the obsession with it.

Think they are fuckers.

elsbethy · 17/10/2014 06:09

She's awful, so self-obsessed. When she went to Miranda's house on NYE was about the only time she acted like a decent friend.

I loved Bunny

KikitheKitKat · 17/10/2014 08:50

My friend of 40 years and I were discussing whether good friends really phone each other at 2 in the morning when they have a man-problem. We certainly wouldn't! Anyone do this in real life, like they do in SATC?

askyfullofstars · 17/10/2014 08:55

onedrop
Bunny McDougall was ace!

I was ill the other day so spent all day watching satc (the episodes are short and I didnt have to try too hard), I loved Dr. Leeds too, he was much more suited to Miranda, why the heck did she dump him for Steve?!?!?!?!

ThrowAChickenInTheAir · 17/10/2014 08:59

Omg I think they're all weird. But Steve made me squirm. Just something about him which was just urrrgh!

I thought Carrie totally over-reacted when she fell out with Miranda and blamed her for Big standing her up at the altar.

I always seem to end up hating everyone on shows where there are lots of characters. It went the same way with The Archers for me. Hated the lot of them and had to stop listening. Ditto Corrie.

Onedropoflove · 17/10/2014 09:01

I was like that with Greys. Hated them all I had to stop watching before I exploded with rage.

cherrybombxo · 17/10/2014 09:47

Onedrop, Greys is basically my religion but it really is the most ridiculous show ever. My mum had to stop watching it too for the same reason but I still watch it religiously!

jasper · 17/10/2014 09:56

CB was utterly dreadful.
all that girly whimpering and simpering and acting like she was God's gift to the world.
Yuk.

never missed an episode...

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 17/10/2014 10:00

I always thought the casting and writers had a problem with the way they portrayed black people. There wasn't ONE black character who didn't turn out mean or weak.

Think about it.

Onedropoflove · 17/10/2014 10:09

I never over think the show

Lweji · 17/10/2014 10:19

Think they are fuckers.

Wasn't that the point of the whole show? Wink
