to think that Carrie Bradshaw was a terrible friend?!

I've just watched the episode of Sex and The City where she was shouting at Charlotte to give her the money to buy her apartment because she was broke as she'd spent 40k on shoes! Shock

She isn't too nice really, is she?!

Whining about money and claiming you are hard done by when you've just spent all your spends really winds me up.

(I never refer to money as "spends" otherwise but in the context of "spent all your spends" it just seems right)

WerkSupp · 16/10/2014 22:46

Aiden was a twonk.

iwishiwasacat · 16/10/2014 22:46

When I was 14-16 I loved SATC and I watch it now and just think that they are all ridiculous! Carrie is the absolute worst. I do think Samantha opened my eyes to the fact that it's OK for a woman to enjoy sex and be sexual and still be independent and powerful though.

squoosh · 16/10/2014 22:52

Aidan was a creep.

Alisvolatpropiis · 16/10/2014 22:56

She was essentially an American Liz Jones, wasn't she.

MummyBeerest · 16/10/2014 23:00

Carrie was terrible still love the show

Miranda is the only one I could mildly relate to. Her, or Magda.

Plateofcrumbs · 16/10/2014 23:01

I'd pick Aiden over Big any day of the week. Followed by Berger. In fact pretty much any of Carrie's boyfriends other than Big. Steve's the best really though. I alway's really rooted for Miranda and Steve.

makemineabacardi · 16/10/2014 23:03

No no no plate, Harry is the best. He's hilarious - "Greetings from silicon valley!" Grin

I always hated Carrie. She's an arsehole.

squoosh · 16/10/2014 23:04

Steve did cheat, so not really that great.

The best boyfriend of all was Miranda's basketball physio guy Dr Robert. He was hot, hot, hot. And she dumped him for Steve the Gnome.

Ugh.

squoosh · 16/10/2014 23:05

Was Berger not that hideously sulky and passive aggressive writer dude? He was the worst of all.

IrenetheQuaint · 16/10/2014 23:09

Oh Dr Robert was lovely. And Harry was really funny and believable.

I can never forget Charlotte's sexually dysfunctional first husband who used to refuse to shag her then jerk off secretly in the bathroom. Grim but somehow convincing.

iwishiwasacat · 16/10/2014 23:10

Berger was definitely the worst! He so jealous of Carrie's success and then dumped her with a post-it note! Harry was the best for sure.

makemineabacardi · 16/10/2014 23:13

Harry's only grim point was his habit of teabagging the white couch

HarlowEver · 16/10/2014 23:14

She was my least likeable. Even SJP didn't like her

Really? What makes you say that?

I remember she did an interview with Jonathan Ross and he made a mean but very true comment about Carrie, and she seemed quite offended by it.

I can't imagine she'd play someone she didn't like for so many years.

gamescompendium · 16/10/2014 23:14

Carrie was spectacularly annoying and Big was too good for her with her teenager sulking. I loved Big, or maybe it was Chris Noth because I still think he's hot in The Good Wife even though he sleeps with prostitutes in that.

Lweji · 16/10/2014 23:19

No, the very best was Samantha's hunk. And not just the body.

ladygracie · 16/10/2014 23:25

My biggest I hate Carrie moment is the episode where Berger has dumped her by post-it & Charlotte has just got engaged (to harry - the best one of all) but it's all about Carrie & the post-it. No celebration of the engagement, it's all about Carrie. Horrid.

Bluetone · 16/10/2014 23:28

I watched that one last week ladygracie She is so self involved.

I love Harry, with Steve a close second.

ladygracie · 16/10/2014 23:31

I know, I get so so cross when I watch that one. But then the others all enabled her selfish, self centred behaviour. (Or am I now analysing too much?!)

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 16/10/2014 23:32

Lady what about when Samantha announces her cancer at Miranda's wedding though? I know cancer is a huge deal....but good grief!

Shodan · 16/10/2014 23:34

But Steve has those horrible puppy dog eyes!

I liked Harry.

And out of the four women, I like Charlotte the most. Don't know why really.

SJP's squealing (e.g when she sees the mouse) would make me slap her very hard, if she were within reach when she did it. It's like nails on a blackboard.

whatwhatinthewhatnow · 16/10/2014 23:34

I liked Charlotte. And Miranda after that. In the film when Charlotte says to Big "I stuck up for you!" (or similar) when she bumps in to him in the street is something I could really relate to, it seemed real until she went into an appropriately timed labour

Carrie is alright, I think the deal is that we aren't meant to always agree with her decisions, yet they are mistakes we all make.

ladygracie · 16/10/2014 23:34

I don't remember that at all. I don't remember the wedding though. Clearly they are all as bad as each other!!!

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 16/10/2014 23:43

Shodan yes but Harry sat bare arsed on the nice white sofa....gross.

Agree about Steve's eyes...he always looked pitiful...not sexy that.

lady yes...she tells Carrie in the taxi on the way there...and then blurts it out at the reception!

redredread · 16/10/2014 23:56

I agree with the pp who liked Smith Jarrett (sp?) the most. Gorgeous, in every way
