I have one. I call it my granny trolley in a cool, ironic kind of way. Couldn't do without it.....

Pixel · 22/09/2014 19:50

Mine does have rubber wheels, it's very quiet, no embarrassing clanking and rumbling along the pavement like some of those suitcases on wheels!

Holliewantstobehot · 22/09/2014 19:50

I bought one this summer.for going out and about with the kids. My back just couldn't take anymore. My sister bought one 5 days later. Brilliant for picnics and all the other stuff you have to lug about. The kids love pulling it too!

Deathraystare · 22/09/2014 19:56

Hey I am 54 years young and have one! I need to. I do not have a car. I walk back from the local shops (not so far away) but it is better than plastic bags digging into your hands! That is if I remember to take the bloody trolley in the first place!!!!!

ithoughtofitfirst · 22/09/2014 19:59

Never thought of getting one but really... it opens up a world of possibilities. My mind is blown.

ithoughtofitfirst · 22/09/2014 20:01

Haha death so instead of smacking yourself on the forehead at till like "BAGS" you go "GRANNY TROLLEY"

Meglet · 22/09/2014 20:07

Yanbu.

I've been considering getting one since the pushchair went. But it has to be trendy .

OhTheDrama · 22/09/2014 20:11

I have flirted with this idea for a few years, I don't drive and life would be so much easier but nope I keep chickening out. Round these parts you see nobody under 60 with them, not even the funky modern looking ones. I'm about to need a pram again soon so the decision has been taken out of my hands for a while. I have bought an Uppababy Vista which has a HUGE basket.

TheBogQueen · 22/09/2014 20:13

You can also put a tantrummy three year d in one and wheel them round the shops

TheBogQueen · 22/09/2014 20:14

Ikea does them although when I got mine DP said 'oh I see you are embracing your inner old lady... '

IfNotNowThenWhen · 22/09/2014 20:24

I'm on my second one! NO ONE where I live uses one, but I don't give a shit Wink
I second the rubber wheels. I tell folk round here that caddies ( not old lady trollies thank you) are quite the thing in that London. Because they are! Tout Le Hackney has them !

ithoughtofitfirst · 22/09/2014 20:31

That's it, I've heard enough. I'm getting one.

SarniaCherie · 22/09/2014 20:31

I've got one, I'm 36 and asked DH to get me one for my last birthday. my arms are eternally grateful Grin

SarniaCherie · 22/09/2014 20:32

Actually I'm 37, forgot how old I was Blush

Clutterbugsmum · 22/09/2014 20:33

I have one he's called Trevor Grin.

SarniaCherie · 22/09/2014 20:34

Oh and I also have one with rubber wheels, it makes for a smoother quieter ride.

PacificDogwood · 22/09/2014 20:36

So, are those expensive Rolser ones worth the money, then?
I'd be happy to invest if they lasted well.

I did not actually buy anything earlier

Futurebird · 22/09/2014 20:43

Pacific! You bastard, I bought one because you said you did. I think mine has rubber wheels.

I'm nervous that I'll be too scared to use it.

So sorry, I did not mean to mislead you…

Bartlebee · 22/09/2014 20:48

I think they're so useful if you shop and walk.

I would still feel like a twat though.

WorraLiberty · 22/09/2014 20:50

I hate them, when the old biddies get on the bus they take up all the front seats and it makes it hard for my buggy to get on. I never seen anyone under the age of 40 using a trolley.

Well learn to fold your buggy at the bus stop, just like the 'old biddies' did back in the day Wink

PacificDogwood · 22/09/2014 20:55

I'd feel quite proud with mine
But then again 'when I am old I will wear purple' Grin

Old biddie - I won't be an old biddie even when I'm an even older lady Shock

rustnmarty · 22/09/2014 20:57

OK I'm forty next Friday so think I qualify for one. Plus my 3 year old is out of the pushchair and I miss the basket soooo much !

I can't find one with rubber wheels though that's not criminally expensive ?? Help anyone ?
Reccomedations ?

AlpacaLypse · 22/09/2014 21:08

Sod 'The Nest Of Vipers'.

Let us become 'The Young Biddies'.

In fairness to Rebecca2014 some of the local people have been a pain in my area on buses with their shopping trollies - I'll always remember being 8 months pregnant in the blistering heat of a London Summer and having to stand on the bus even though there were plenty of seats. I couldn't get to the seats because the gangway was blocked by the shopping trolleys. Plus there are no specified spaces on London buses for them, the area is a wheelchair priority and that is when someone is expected to fold up their buggy. I have one and am considerate about how I use it!
