Oy OP..........less of the old lady if you please.

Topseyt · 22/09/2014 18:23

Ohhh, I have been thinking of taking the plunge and buying one of these for years. Ever since my youngest child (now 12) stopped needing the pushchair.

It is the only thing I miss having the pushchair for. At least when the kids needed it I could load shopping into its basket and easily wheel it home. Now whenever I buy things like large 4-pinters of milk (bought in twos to get the best value round here, so 8 pints to carry) it nearly pulls the arms out of me if I don't have the car anywhere near.

I love that "cities" one on Amazon. Finger hovering. Do I? Don't I? Grin Wink

Do you think if everyone who reads this buys we can bring them in as a thing ?

Notso · 22/09/2014 18:24

I really want one, am still using the double buggy for shopping even though I only have one buggy using child, and he is 2.5. DD 14 has said she will disown me if I get one though Hmm

Cocolepew · 22/09/2014 18:30

Ohh I was just saying yesterday that I was going to buy one of these, I love the spotty ones.

Topseyt · 22/09/2014 18:31

Oh, and someone mentioned students having them.

My uni student daughter (19) has said she has seen some students with them. Has to be a funky one, but she definitely saw some around campus. She used to say until very recently she would disown me because I wasn't yet old enough for one. Now she is half tempted herself, after a year of doing her own shopping and having to lug it some distance (feeling her arms being pulled from their sockets).

Mine's not a shopping trolley as such (not one of the trendy ones anyway), it's actually a coolbag on a trolley that we thought would be good for picnics and camping. We never did get round to using it for that (was a bit too big for camping and then we got an electric coolbox) so I've been using it for my shopping for a few years now. It's great because I don't have to worry about my ice-cream melting on the way home. Smile

ThatBloodyWoman · 22/09/2014 18:33

Mine is great for library trips.

Jenni2legs · 22/09/2014 18:34

I wanted to one last time I was in IKEA, but husband was all Hmm
But I am totally getting one! Aged 31 Grin

Topseyt · 22/09/2014 18:37

Eeeeeek!! I just ordered it.

I am excited!! Am I a sad case or what??

Ludways · 22/09/2014 18:41

I have one and it's fab, totally the in thing.

Futurebird · 22/09/2014 18:42

Gah! I'm so excited that I've started a "thing"!

I've not even bought one yet...

smallandimperfectlyformed - to be fair, you don't see many people under 5 inches...

WD41 · 22/09/2014 19:17

I was just thinking recently that I wanted one. Don't drive and DD is using her pushchair less and less nowadays, so going to lose that basket space. Very glad to hear they're actually trendy!

cherrybombxo · 22/09/2014 19:20

I have a navy one with white polka dots. My friends slag me about it but I don't care - I do mine and DP's weekly shop while he's at work on a Saturday and my trolley saves my hands on the ten minute walk home!

whataloadofoldshit · 22/09/2014 19:21

Yeah, do it! YOLO

StillSquirrelling · 22/09/2014 19:24

This is hilarious! I so nearly started a thread like this the other day but thought I'd be shot down in flames!
DS is almost at the age where he's out of a buggy (ours is an Out n About Nipper too, so can pretty much hold half our house contents) and I'm panicking about having to go places with three (still fairly young at 6, 5 and 3) kids but nothing to transport all their shite with! I was going to buy one and fall back on my RA as an excuse ;)

Soapysuds64 · 22/09/2014 19:26

I got one - can't remember the brand - and attatched a buggy board (kiddy board?) to it. was great for post-buggy pre-scooter age.

I use this as it folds into my shoulder bag when empty.
I use a stick and am not allowed to carry weighty things at all

WorraLiberty · 22/09/2014 19:32

Just remember everyone

Rubber wheels!

Mrsgrumble · 22/09/2014 19:33

I'm a teacher and se my very funky one daily Grin

hugoagogo · 22/09/2014 19:33

It's worth spending a bit more- get yourself a rolser.

I have had mine about 6 years and it is brilliant but I am still too much of a jessie to take it into town Blush

Jux · 22/09/2014 19:36

I have a lovely wicker one which I always used. I almost went into mourning it finally died (but it had seen over 40 years of service by then).

Rebecca2014 · 22/09/2014 19:41

I hate them, when the old biddies get on the bus they take up all the front seats and it makes it hard for my buggy to get on. I never seen anyone under the age of 40 using a trolley.
