They're all going out of stock on the websites Grin

bendydickcumonmybaps · 22/09/2014 22:22

Ive had one for a while now....they are great, so much better than lugging bags around.

Momagain1 · 22/09/2014 22:28

Ooooh, i saw an older lady with an obviously ancient wicker one years ago, have wanted one since, but assumed they werent made! Mine is broken. And the wicker is way cheaper than some of the pricier ones!

fatlazymummy · 22/09/2014 22:36

I've had one for about 3 years, I wouldn't be without it now.I do all my shopping on foot, I used to end up having to get a cab if my bags were too heavy, I never have to pay out for cabs now.
They're actually quite common here. My kids did take the piss at 1st, but it doesn't bother me at all.

fatlazymummy · 22/09/2014 22:40

clutterbugs mine's called Doris.
I've got to say, I'm very impressed by some of these in the links. My one cost £13 from a 'cheap' shop.

PacificDogwood · 22/09/2014 22:42

I sorted all the shopping trolley by price 'most expensive first' and then ran out of patience after 5 pages or so.
There are 20+ pages of them… Grin

skyeskyeskye · 22/09/2014 22:53

I bought one on holiday after spending a fortune at the 99p shop and I couldn't carry it all home. I also decided it would be really useful on caravan holidays when I take the food in, wheel it rather than carry it.

DD then wanted one, "to be like Mummy and Nana" . I said no, she cried, Nana bought it. So then there were three of us wheeling them up the road, aged 67, 42, and 6!!

I did feel a bit of a granny wheeling it along...... But it was so useful!

I have had a shopping trolley for a couple of years now, since I gave up the buggy. Mind you, I am as old as Moses. The only other person under 60 I see in my area with one is a very glamorous African woman who wears huge colourful hats. Everyone else round here has cars. I have no car, and two children, arthritis in my hands and hips, and a 25 minute walk to the supermarket. I would be utterly stupid if I didn't have one.

I LOVE shopping trolleys. And once you have decided not to be embarrassed, you do kind of stop being embarrassed. i tend to buy cheap and replace often, but I'm very tempted by those Roiser ones - might treat myself for Christmas...

SarniaCherie · 23/09/2014 00:59

This is my trolley, www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00CRXM4H0?qid=1411430074&sr=8-1&vs=1i was impressed at how good it was for the price

Futurebird · 23/09/2014 09:21

Brilliant sarnia, that's the one I've bought, but in black and white...

A bonus of some of the Rolser ones - including Dorothy, I might add, is that they fold so you can store them easily at home (and even hang them from a shopping trolley in the supermarket!)

MollyBdenum · 23/09/2014 20:57

My Rollser one does that. It has a special hook thing for hanging it on the back of a trolley.

stainedglassheart · 24/09/2014 14:00

I'd love one too. But how do you manage a shopping and a supermarket trolley? I'm 4.10" Are there any that down to put in the shelf underneath the S/market trollies?

stainedglassheart · 24/09/2014 14:03

Sorry - should've read '' fold down'' '........

dippydora69 · 24/09/2014 14:13

I'm sorry, but those trolleys are for old ladies, no matter how much you bling them up!

Why not get yourself a blue rinse and a plastic rain hood while you're at it.
And don't forget to buy lots of beige, lilac and grey clothes.
Especially beige. And if you can get it all from M & S, even better Grin

Seriously - I like old ladies, but why act like one before your time? Confused
It comes round soon enough.

PeppermintInfusion · 24/09/2014 14:20

When my mum retired a few years ago and got her free bus pass she asked for one as a present. I found a funky patterned one then folded up to look like a shoulder bag when not in use, really useful before you start shopping

dippydora69 · 24/09/2014 14:24

My mother is 83 but is very young and stylish for her age.

She has threatened to disown me if I ever buy her a shopping trolley as a present!
Her words: ''I refuse to look and dress like an old biddy''.

She's amazing!
(but I might just get her one as a joke present one day Grin) It has to be done.

stainedglassheart · 24/09/2014 14:29

Thanks Peppermint, I've had one of those but found the wheels insubstantial and inadequate. But, that was a long time ago, maybe there are some that combine proper wheels but collapse to stash under the trolley? Some ( trusting souls ) park their trollies the exit side of the tills, but I don t know if I could do that. And none of them are the super-trendy expensive ones.

hugoagogo · 24/09/2014 14:39

It is a struggle with a supermarket trolley as well, so I just fill my trolley as I go around and empty it out at the till- no one has ever commentedWink .

JulesJules · 24/09/2014 15:27

I love that pug one at Amazon.

Lakeland have a whole page of them including a Rolser at reduced price

There was a thread about these a while back and someone said that everyone in Paris uses one (darling) and they are not seen as old ladyish at all. I nearly bought one then, and I'm seriously tempted now...

fatlazymummy · 24/09/2014 15:28

dippydora nothing to do with being an old lady. It's no different than having a suitcase with wheels (probably all of them, nowadays). Why carry your case when you can wheel it along? I have to walk to the shop and carry my shopping home for 3 people. All of it, including things like 4 pints of milk, bags of potatoes.
I'm very fit for my age ,actually I'm probably fitter than a lot of younger people. I'm still not going to carry a load of heavy bags when I can wheel them instead.

JulesJules · 24/09/2014 15:29

I have a bad back and no car. Both excellent reasons for using a trolley imo.

But which one shall I get?

PeppermintInfusion · 24/09/2014 15:32

Yes this was a sturdier one, some of the options I considered did seem to have wheel issues

MollyBdenum · 24/09/2014 16:00

I would argue that driving to an out of town supermarket is the frumpy option. Walking to the market, local shops (and Aldi) with an attractive trolley is only marginally less fashionable than cycling there on your fixie :-)

My Rolser trolley has a sturdy frame and wheels and folds up to hang on the back of a trolley. They also have a design than you can wheel up steps.

JulesJules · 24/09/2014 16:10

Smallandimperfectlyformed This one is especially for under 5 footers! at John Lewis
