To think you get "a side" in bed and that's that? There's no changing?

DH thinks that you can opt for either side.

Who is being unreasonable?

I pick whatever side has the bedside cabinet because I wear glasses and like them to be at arm's length. That's my sole condition when it comes to side-choosing - I'm easily pleased.

Hulababy · 19/09/2014 20:43

In our own bed, at home - always the same side.

On holiday, etc - It may vary, but I usually get to choose.

MiuChoos · 19/09/2014 22:28

At home, we always have the same side of the bed. I'm always the side nearest the door.
Thinking it about it, even on holiday there's no deviating. The sides stay the same.
No reason, must just be habit I suppose! Smile

Oooo-er! :) I certainly missed the penis beaker thread!!! Sorry I asked - I've never felt the need for one of them! Feel like such a slut :)

ernesttheBavarian · 20/09/2014 06:18

We have a big bed and we each chose our own mattress. His is rock hard. Mine lovely and sof. We have one sheet for the whole bed, but each have a single duvet, so no worries about duvet hogging. But he gets really sweaty at night Hmm No way am I sleeping on his rock hard stale patch. No swaps allowed here.

When going to a hotel etc there's no fixed rule though I usually choose first. Usually closest to the door, I guess cos of kids, though our youngest is now 6 so?

lugwump · 20/09/2014 11:09

What is a "penis beaker"?

I know some people put their teeth in a beaker at the bedside, but aren't penises generally fized?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 20/09/2014 11:49

Lugwump check out the thread mentioned a few posts back and all will be revealed Grin

miffybun73 · 20/09/2014 16:19

I always have the left side. Once when going to bed very late on the first day of our holiday we chose the "wrong" side and neither of us slept well all night.

I asked the same thing - I'm not sure I wanted to know! Blush

lugwump · 20/09/2014 19:47

After sex?

Why I fall asleep of course.

Wadingthroughsoup · 20/09/2014 23:06

People swap sides when staying away from home? Heavens to Betsy, that would be far too bold and adventurous for me!

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 20/09/2014 23:52

Well, weirdly, if I'm alone I can only sleep facing door on far side of bed. But when dh is in (closest to the door) I roll over. I have to keep an eye on door for when the vampires come in

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 20/09/2014 23:57

When DH moved in, he just announced which he side was going to be....
How quick did you ltb? Worra liberty.
Sigh, not chuffing PB again.

ElyshaCharlesSleepEmporium · 22/09/2014 10:35

When I fist met my husband we both had our own houses and slept on the same side of the bed. When we moved in together he refused to give up his side and so I had to get used to sleeping on the other side.
It took me a while to get used to it but now I can't sleep on the other side at all.

AmberLav · 22/09/2014 10:58

We'd fall out of bed if we swapped sides! DH on right, me on left - we might swap if the bed was up against the wall, but that hasn't happened yet! I don't even mix around the pillows between washes!
