To block this car in...

I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

If you leave a note it should only say:
C
You
Next
Tuesday

and no more.

Cookiepants · 15/08/2014 14:08

Really hope this gets sorted before your camping trip so you can update us!

Ledkr · 15/08/2014 14:13

Can't think of a comment so I can place mark so sod it.

SirChenjin · 15/08/2014 14:16

Has the OP still not found out whose car it is yet?? I have work to do - hurry up please

Vinomum · 15/08/2014 14:18

Ooh I'm livid on your behalf OP. I'd absolutely be blocking it in if I were you (and possibly setting up CCTV too just so I don't miss their reaction).

Wonc · 15/08/2014 14:22

What Ledkr said ^

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/08/2014 14:22

Glad you've blocked them in!

Wantsunshine · 15/08/2014 14:25

Can't believe the cheek of some people. Glad you have blocked them in.
I wish this would happen to me! Will have to make my driveway more enticing in the hopes I can block someone in!
I clearly need some drama in my life.

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 15/08/2014 14:26

Isn't it illegal to block a car in, even if it's on your driveway? I'm sure it's come up before.... Good luck OP....!

HauntedNoddyCar · 15/08/2014 14:28

Nothing helpful to add but just place marking.

What sort of car is it?

vestandknickers · 15/08/2014 14:33

Marking my place.

Have you looked in the car? Any clues?

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/08/2014 14:34

Any update on whether or not it is an allowed driveway nabber? Or are you burying someone in the flower bed?!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/08/2014 14:35

Oooh, very exciting Wink

Lj8893 · 15/08/2014 14:37

pilates · 15/08/2014 14:42

What's happening op?

Unbelievable cheek.

Corabell · 15/08/2014 14:45

ProfessorPickles · 15/08/2014 14:50

Place marking, I'd be sat in the window waiting if I was your neighbour OP Grin

DamonAllbran · 15/08/2014 14:50

Good Luck OP - I'd leave a note with your number & telling them to call it & you'll tell them who has the keys (after giving them an almighty bollocking).

I fail to see how it could be illegal to block this car in as it's on private land & would be a civil, not criminal matter.

The Police would do as much for them as they would for you if you phoned - bugger all!
